Great city terrible service!
You call and no one pick up the phone!
You go there and no one wants to help you!
You apply online and no one even bother to respond to you! This should be a wake up call to the people seating in the high chairs!
You think I think it will help? I’m sure it won’t!

Pull a service ticket and expect to sit there for hours on end while you watch the disinterested service clerks call numbers at their own leisure while constantly chatting amongst themeselves with the occasional cell phone distraction. They really do respect and value your time there. What's not to love about this place? Great city, great service!

They need to repair their printers in the record room, it has been weeks and nobody does anything so I’m writing this complaint that they need to do a better job keeping their equipment working, after all the city depends on you

Just another government office that is a waste of time and resources. No one is willing to help or assist you in any shape or form plus attitude issues. I wonder why these government worker are always in a bad mood. Sad for them.: - (

The staff needs customer service training, hangs up on the phone or places call on hold without saying anything or saying the initial hello, sometimes very rude. Most of the NYC Departments staff are not friendly and outright rude. I live in Long Island but own properties in NYC and one can definitely say that their is a huge difference in Customer Service and phone etiquette.

I called the number about 10 times and I was constantly placed on hold and hung up on. Some one needs to do something about this.it is beyond unprofessional and very upsetting.

If you act with honesty and respect the fact, DOB is your best alliance.

On Dec 7th, 2018, I was made aware by a realtor friend that the house my family has just purchased was issued a demolition work permit by HPD. The very next day, i went over to HPD and verify that HPD issued the approved the work permit to start the demo without our knowledge. In fact, i found that they never attempt to contract us about this job and had actually waived many of the required paperwork, including notifying the owner on record as well as the neighbors.when i asked how it is possible that they could do that, the rep from HPS simplied replied they had the court order to do so. But when i try to follow up on the court order to.simply issue a Order to Show Cause on the Case to get more time.hpd.acted as if they never mentioned about any court order. Which was.not found in any court searches under all court systems.when we first become aware of the situation, Subcontractors had already cut the gas, elec and water lines and will mobilize within a week. Though HPD did tell me that DOB can may issue an halt, but it will need approved permits, which if.you know anything.about permit.approval, it could.take up to.months at a time. After hearing the injustice and plight i was in, DOB gave me instructions on emergency filling and gave us 1 week extension from HPD for us to get all the filing application paperwork ready and that was all we needed! Had not been this extra time, we would not have the chance to save the building even if we hire the best engineer / architect to save the building. The lost would have been devastating to my family as this is the first renovation project we ever try to take on, if we were late for 1 more week.

Thank you, to those who in their daily jobs, act with kindness and understanding for others just as if this is their own matter. I love you DOB! And million thanks to the director who often speaks in a indifferent and nonchalent tone, but deligently guards for the truth and cares for the mistreated.

I called to get the some information before I go there to make sure I have what they would needed. And got hold on and hung up on several times. ‍️ should not be like this. We are civilized. These offices should not accept that behavior from workers that are supposed to be professionals and dealing with people. Quality of Respect should be on their hiring application when working with people. Some home owners just need a little guidance since codes and requirements are changing and this is the borough office, we are supposed to be able to call and get the proper help and guidance. I hope it get better.
