A first-rate library branch with great staff. Today one of my books wasn't getting checked out on the machine, so the librarian at the front desk helped me get it checked out properly, so all was well. She was exceptionally friendly and resourceful!

I remember the day it opened back in 1969, after the old library closed down the blvd diagonal from Carvel. Learned how to read from both these libraries. Glad to hear that you are still going strong. Whitestone Thanks for keeping it going. May it last forever.

Quiet, clean, and for you parents out there with your kids on break for the week: they have game time every weekday from 2pm - 5: 30pm during the break (Jenga, legos, puzzles, monopoly, checkers, matching games, etc).

Ms. Yen is lovely!
I'm not very sure about the other staff's names, sorry, but they're usually very friendly!
Sadly I moved to another area, and the library there is not so great.so I have to drive fifteen minutes to get here! But it's worth it!

So I'm saying you should totally come but please don't be too rowdy it's like a (mostly) quiet haven of sorts and there's a Dunkin' Donuts, a Rite Aid, a chinese restaurant, and a pizzeria nearby, all fairly decent, and I just love it I can't I love it so much

I lived in Bayside for 30 years and had used the Auburndale Library to help my 3 children's academic grew up. The library management is fantastic, especially the latest technological improvement, can eliminate a lot of unnecessary manpower and facilitate check out time. However, I believed some employees in there should be educated about their customer relationship.
I got retired lately and try to use the library, to spend some leisure time, which for over ten years I had not used.
Last Friday I bowered some videos disks and tried to return them on Tuesday. After I passed them through the feeding channel. One oriental employee rush out and condemn me for ruining the disk container. Before I can defend myself another oriental lady rush out to support her coworker, without listening to my explanation. She told me that I have to pay for the damage and talked to the manager. The time I borrowed those disks, they were enclosed in a plastic sealed envelope, I had never have any chance to inspect for any defect of the merchandise until I use it.
After I received the items returned receipt, I ask the manager how much I have to pay for the damage? She smile and asked me if I had caused the damage? I told her I did not, she smiled and told me I do not need to pay for the damage not caused by me.
I am oriental myself, but I do feel ashamed for the treatment I received by people of my own nationality. Sometime, patient for listening and examination the situation carefully can eliminate a lot of unnecessary misunderstanding. Without the understanding help of the manager I would lost confidence for the library system. Also library items belong to everyone, we should not abuse them. Thank you again.

Decent library but some staff are not friendly. I left early with my kids because this one lady who works there was constantly complaining that the kids don't put the books back. If she doesn't want the books disturbed, she shouldn't work there.
