Radio Star Karaoke reviews
16The rooms were spacious and clean. The customer service was amazing. The guy at the front Daniel was so friendly and funny. The food was also really good and it came out fast. There was a really nice vibe there. Definitely going to go back
We had a blast celebrating a friend’s birthday at Radio Star! Their themed rooms are so cool, but the bar itself is also super neat. Very exciting space with fun decor. The drinks were great, and the service was excellent. They have a big selection of songs and also take requests in advance by email. We will be back for sure!
The staff is the bomb and Danny is the coolest person in the world. The bartenders be looking out and hooking the drinks up too so pull up!
We had the best time for my daughter's 13th birthday. Danny and Kara took great care of us. The rooms are so cool with a lot of music memorabilia. Highly recommend!
I love this place, never had a bad experience here. The main room is always a good time, the individual rooms are always fun too! I love all the hosts, definitely come here!
This place is super cute and they are all very nice! I love that they check in always to see if we need.
A few blocks away from the k town craziness giving you a better chance of singing a song. The bartenders are great and grab the mic every few to give a little preformance. Much better song list than where we tried going in k-town as well. All around great time, good vibes.
Kenna and Amy are the best bartenders in NY hands down! I love coming to this place for a vibe and some great drinks! They have a HUGE song selection also. JUST COME!
I wish there were more kpop selections but besides that I had an amazing time, the food was so good and Daniel was super funny and made my experience great!
Good:
- Prices for rooms are ok and typically it’s a bit less crowded than most spots in Ktown proper (32nd st).
- The bar staff are friendly and it’s usually a good crowd to sing along with
Bad
- Room equipment is outdated and cumbersome. Most karaoke places have tablets or even let you queue up songs from your phone. Radio star uses a 1980s TV remote where only like 3 buttons actually work.
- The host (I think his name is Danny) is one of the least friendly and most arrogant people I’ve ever seen in the service industry. Ask him for any help with booking a room or issues with equipment and he will act like it’s the biggest inconvenience ever.
Nice selection of songs. I opened the door into our room and there was an employee standing behind the door and he yelled “Anyone teach you how to knock? ! ”. Freaked me out a little because he kept a straight face and stared at me, but my friends said they were sure he was joking. IDK.
I love this place! I love coming here! The open bar and karaoke is so fun, and the bartenders are the best ️
My favorite favorite place to have Karaoke in NYC. Rooms are spacious, microphones and sound system are high quality, Danny and the entire team are extremely accommodating, welcoming, and warm. Drinks are top notch! Especially the open bar option! This place is must for locals and visitors in the heart of NYC!
Great spot for karaoke rooms. Walk-ins only which is good for impromptu karaoke. Dan and the rest of the staff were great! Drinks were tasty - especially the Lavender Collins. Very solid song selection. Will be coming back here next time the mode for karaoke strikes.
My worst Karaoke experience. In three countries and numerous other Karaokes I've been to here in NYC, Radio Star Karaoke has the worst service. Aside from the outdated machines and lack of equipment to book songs and change settings, one employee was extremely unpleasant.
As numerous reviews have already stated, the guy Danny needs to go. He was rude from the get go. He popped his head without knocking on our private room countless times throughout the two hours. After the two hours, I asked the staff for his name and he came out and asked what was wrong. I told him that he was rude for interrupting every five minutes, and he became defensive and said "I only checked in 3 times in the last 20 minutes" as if that is somehow normal.
I reserved a private room to Karaoke for the first time and ended up having my worst Karaoke experience. The guy interrupted so frequently, we should have been given extra time for all the time we lost. The other staff seemed nice enough but management and owners should know that Danny is ruining their business.
