Red Hook Pool reviews
16Clean, easy to get to, they give out lunch and it's big! Just make sure you have a lock
Went to the pool with my brother today and I had a great time until a lifeguard give me attitude which messed up my whole mood the pool is clean and we'll maintained.but overall boring cause there's nothing to do there. Rate 4/10
The pool is clean and I swim here frequently. They have weight training as well. Very orderly and we'll run
Clean pool, serve lunched (nyc doe) to eat.no phones allowed on pool deck area. At the end before lunch, your rushed to put on ur wears and be out. 10 mins is 2 mins their time.
We love this place, we come every summer it's clean, installations are good, and there is soap and sunblock if you need, is not crowded in weekdays, exelent to finish your day after work and relax with family.
From someone who likes to swim but also enjoy the water this is a pretty meh pool. The pool itself is pretty shallow, but large and well maintained, making it good for little kids or big families. What I dislike the most is how strict they are, no toys, floats or swim shirts of a certain color are allowed and anything that looks like horseplay is shut down which is super annoying. It's a pretty annoying pool if you want to swim and the lifeguards aren't really that friendly.
This pool, though well maintained, is genuinely one of the worst experiences in Brooklyn. I understand maybe having certain restrictions at a public pool, and that these restrictions are across the board in nyc public pools, but the enforcing of them is simply too much with little reasoning. I had to beg to be allowed in to watch the child I came with without a bathing suit on. It took literal convincing to be allowed to sit on the side to make sure a seven year old didn’t drown. And so many of the workers are so mean and condescending for no reason when you have an issue. Only one girl there was pleasant. Do not come to this pool unless you are prepared to have issues with the people there. There a far better pools in nyc.
They are racist. They won’t let muslim women in because of their religious clothes! Worst experience ever. Rude, racist, and unprofessional!
A great well taken care of pool but with alot of rules!) What I understand that's what makes this place clean. Nice staff who really take their job seriously.
One thing I have a problem with is that you're not allowed to take swim puffs with you in. So if your kid can't swim, they won't learn her.
Incompetent, ghetto, lazy, uneducated staff. Disgusting. On Sunday while there was zero rules, on Tuesday they decided to apply.
Went there at 6: 20 just to do a couple laps before they close, I got in but my wife wasn't allowed in. A woman stopped her and told her they were closed. My wife listened, sat at the gate. Then a family with children came, also were told the pool was closed (it was 6: 30 now, I was swimming already), and the parents began arguing with them about closing time until they let the family in. My wife was still not allowed in.
I get it that all the pools close at 6: 45 to prepare for the 7pm closing and I obey this 100% of the time, but not letting in people in at 6: 20 is ridiculous. This is a public pool, we pay for this with tax dollar, the hours are the hours.
A great public pool. Lifeguards are friendly and fun to talk to. Convenient proximity to Carroll Gardens too. There are lots of children, but the vibe is fun. Make sure to bring a padlock for a locker as they don’t allow you to bring bags on the pool deck.
Came to red hook cause sunset park was closing early. They ended up closing red hook early too. I was really upset.
The pool is nice but the rules are the worst. My kids were so excited to swim but they left the pool crying. All because of the swimming clothes they were wearing. The rules are very strict especially for people that can’t wear swimsuits because of there religion. The staff were okay–the staff that were outside were nice and kind but the staff that were in the pool were very mean. We left the pool very disappointed and heart broken. Worst experience we ever been through.
If you aren't swimming make sure to have all white outfit or dri fit pants and white shirt on. Pool is 4ft throughout and big. No phones, floaties or swim goggles that cover the nose are allowed
