Since first discovering paleo Mediterranean diet several years ago I have been on a mission to reverse what I have since learned to be metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance. The simple solution is to eliminate processed foods, strictly limit carbs and sugar, and consume only healthy fats and pasture raised protein. In short, maintain a diet as close to that of my childhood some 60+ years ago, a diet of Real Food. That was rather difficult in Georgia, where I was exiled for 20 years, but not so on my return to Central New York.

Red House Ranch is now my go to protein farm; real food provided by real folks (who can resist a tailless cat climbing up a leg to perch on Dave's? Shoulder?) at fair prices. I highly recommend a visit to the farm (call ahead!) - you're bound to leave a new customer.

The customer service and quality of their products is incredible. If you're buying commercially raised meat from your local grocery store - even Black Angus - do yourself a favor and order from Red House. Their beef is superior in every way AND you know where it comes from!

If you love bacon, you've got to try Red House Ranch's. The bacon crisps beautifully and the flavor is heavenly. And while you're at it, try their farm-fresh eggs, too, for a perfect breakfast.

Really impressed with the quality and flavor of the product. And then we took a tour of the farm. These animals have their best life possible, and in turn give us ours. Even more impressed with the farmers knowledge and commitment to ethical practices in soil regeneration, and to stewardship of the land. If more farmers would follow this example, we might even save the planet.

My family loves RHR! We camped here two years ago and absolutely loved it. We’ve been craving their smoked pork chops ever since, so we had to order some. All of our meat was so well packaged and still frozen solid. Thanks Ike & Dave!

Red House Ranch is a wonderful place. The camp site is excellent, the open space is refreshing and the eggs and meat are second to none. They offer some interesting cuts, I recommend the neck roast, and the bacon and sausage are great. If you're in the area, this is your one stop protein shop. Also ask about the homegrown garlic, if you're lucky they'll have some left. Don't blow it by passing this place up!

We buy meat, eggs and now garlic from Red House Ranch LLC. It is clear that the sustainable farming methods they use result in fresher and significantly better tasing products. The pork chops are phenomenal! Customer service is outstanding and the relationship Red House Ranch owners Ike, Dave and Chris strive to make with their customers will make you feel like part of the family.

Red House Ranch is a breath of fresh air. This farm is truly producing the highest quality meat. It was refreshing to see how the animals live. The cows graze in open pastures, while the pigs rummage in the woods. Dave and Ike even feed the pigs apples! It’s important to know not only where your meat comes from, but to know how well the animals are treated. Their superb treatment even comes through the flavor of the food! This is the future of farming - how it should be!

Exactly what we needed! Absolutely beautiful and serene place to stay with wonderful hosts. Our stay way 3 nights and 4 days and we loved every minute and will absolutely come back maybe in a fall to see the Leaf foliage color.

Great location. Excellent hosts. I’d recommend this campsite to any individuals or families looking to get away for awhile. I’d also highly recommend the eggs, Canadian bacon, and Italian sausage for your camping meals - or to bring home. They were excellent. I’m eager to find an opportunity to go back.

mountain top property offers a vast scenic back drop of the rolling Catskills. After radiant sunsets, the bold clear display of the night sky allows you to decipher your favorite constellations.

The complimentary farm fresh eggs provide a natural full flavor that you just can't find at the grocery store. With a long list of grass fed and pastured options we chose the mild Italian sausage coil and a sirloin steak. These cuts were the most succulent and juicy pieces of meat to ever make their way across my grill. Searing them over the on site firewood and provided grate brought out the divine richness of the tender pork and beef. It was an epic eats experience.

Lastly I would be remiss if I didn't mention the generosity of Ike and Dave. They perfectly accommodated our every need while giving us all the privacy we desired. They are wonderful communicators and great conversationalists to boot. Dave noticed my son's fascination with his ATV and as an act of kindness took us for a ride around the property. We were able to see all the homestead had to offer, including the animals they humanely raise with great care and diligence.

The Red House Ranch has made it on my list of annual summer adventure locations.

This was our first time booking through hipcamp, so my wife and I really did not know what to expect. It was truly amazing, the view was gorgeous, and it was very intimate. Our dogs had space to run and play. We even walked around the farm to see all the animals. I will definitely be booking with these guys in the future! It was a perfect camping trip! They provided wood, had an out house, a hose for water and even a dozen fresh eggs. It was truly incredible! There are also lots of hikes and trails to adventure we visited a few state parks that were relatively close by.

I can’t recommend Red House Ranch highly enough. Ike and Dave put a lot of love into the work that they do, and you can taste it in the meat they raise. They are committed to caring for their animals and the soil on their patch of earth in ways that promote the health of everything: animals, people and the environment. Great variety of cuts, too.

Such a lovely, magical place! Enjoyed staying on the property and exploring. Definitely will be visiting again! All goods provided, from the fresh farm eggs to the amazingly delicious steaks were incredible! Highly recommend!

The owners Ike and Dave are genuine and very kind. I camped on the farm and it was an amazing experience - we walked around to visit the animals and they treat them very well. You can’t do any better than pasture raised meat! So far I tried their pork hot dogs, chicken wings and chicken eggs - the difference is very noticeable and the quality is great. I even ordered some cool stuff for my dogs which was exciting! I would absolutely recommend buying from them.
