Red Onion, Saugerties NY

Our meal was exceptional. Appetizers were all great, especially the sardines and onion soup. The mussels were amazing. Same for the main course, with everyone happy with the pastas, burger and fish n chips. Desserts were delicious. To top it off we took advantage of 25% discount on all wines (I think because it was Tues) to enjoy a really good Cab. Great service. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal celebrating 4 birthdays.

The food was good service was good atmosphere was nice as well I will definitely come back if I'm in the area. My bill came out to about $200.00.

The food is delicious, despite being mostly unimaginative. The vibe inside is super quaint, and the service is fantastic. It was a 50 min drive so not sure if we’d trek for it again, but wouldn’t have a problem going there again if the occasion presented itself.

Had an excellent time here at the red onion, service was friendly and attentive, i had the filet mignon and a pork appetizer both of which were delicious and my friend had the scallops which they found to be a tiny bit too salty but j thoroughly enjoyed

All in all a great experience, i will have to return at some point and save room for dessert!

Excellent meal, great service, very comfortable. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the music. We were directly under a speaker and it was loud.

The food and selections were top notch. I have never had a dinner here which I thoroughly enjoyed.

One of the best dinners my wife and I have had in a while. The food was great. I have never had a chicken entree that I enjoued this much.
But what really blew me away was the service, every member of the staff was pleasant and seemed to know what we needed before we could even ask. The manager checked in on us in the middle of our entrees and I saw him do the same with several other tables, i really liked seeing that.

Service was outstanding. 2 fish dinners at room temp not hot.taste was great but food not hot.

9/10 We will be back! Everything we ordered was great! The service was on point as well. We did the pork belly and shishito steak apps- both were amazing. The ravioli with truffle and arugula was delicious! If there was one thing we had to not order it would be the burger, but it’s only because the other stuff was better! It’s a burger, the other options are the route.

This place is fantastic! Food was awesome (both flavor and presentation), service was perhaps the best I've ever seen, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Went during peak fall colors, so the rife up made it even better. It was not cheap, but wasn't outrageous. Great place to bring guests. I'll definitely be going back!

Great food Wonderfully polite female staff members, One incredibly rude male staff member in late 20s, literally pushes your elbow clear off the table with the plate of food that he is delivering, I witnessed him do this on 3 occasions in one night - Fire Him!

As others have said, service was rude - no smiles, niceties, etc. Staff seemed generally annoyed. The pappardelle was appalling… extremely bland and close to inedible. In fact, all dishes we tried were not seasoned appropriately to make them enjoyable. Far too $$$ for what they’re offering! I understand there aren’t many options in the area but PASS.

Made 7: 00 reservations for the porch for a special occasion. Was told there would be at least a 45 minute wait because the people who had our table showed up late and they didn’t look like they were leaving anytime soon. Really!? Absolutely ridiculous.

Second restaurant in Saugerties that uses too much red pepper in the pastas. Otherwise good but you could tell the servers are new.

Fantastic dinning experience. The food was amazing, made with quality ingredients and seasoned perfectly. The cocktails were delicious and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. It was a little loud during the peak of service but that didn't dampen the experience. Great place!

Best Thai mussels!
In last decade I have not found better tasting mussels anywhere. Sauce is so good you want to drink it or dip a loaf of bread in it:)
Everything else is great too.

Upscale yet down to earth. This place is awesome. They have great service, food, drinks, etc. When we want to go out for a nice night without getting too fancy, we go here. You can bring the kids and even the family dog, while still having a five star experience.

Excellent. Service was professional, prompt, courteous and accommodating. Dishes were plated as works of art and prepared to perfection. The duck and the rack of lamb were outstanding. The bar tender’s old fashion was superb. 100%.
