Reef Restaurant & Bar reviews
16Food was decent but not great. Service was okay. Waiters never came by to check if anything else was needed. Not busy on a Monday night so expected a bit more service. One serving of desert took forever to come out.
We had 9 adults and 2 kids. The staff is friendly and the food is very good. My complaints are minor. Not wheelchair accessible but thank God my grandma was able to walk up the steps with our assistance.
Drinks and apps came out fast. Entrees took forever but food was delicious. Salmon automatically comes medium cooked so you must tell them to how you want it. Shrimps were AMAZING. Steak lovers were happy, seafood lovers were happy, and our 2 vegetarians were happy. I had to pull a chair into the bathroom to change my 2 yr old. If there’s no changing table, there should at least be a top on the toilet seat so someone to sit and change a baby. That’s it. Good job Reef.
Recently came here for my mother's birthday. It is an excellent seafood spot. The branzino, crab meat stuffed shrimp, lobster mac, and clam sauce were all delicious. The food was a little slow to come out, but overall it was worth it.
Amazing service. Amazing food. The burrata and the calamari were *chefs kiss* and I DONT EVEN EAT CALAMARI.so that says a lot. Went with my sister and my best friend. Definitely would come back!
Celebrated my brother's bday and everyone was so attentive and sweet. They also catered to my mother's dietary needs without issues and their food is absolutely amazing.
Such a great experience very cozy atmosphere and great costumer service, went here for dinner with my friend and we loved everything. Amazing food and drinks. Highly recommend
The octopus and the clam chowder was amazing. The ceviche was definitely above average. That's the good news.
But the prices are way way over the top for the area. This is a nice restaurant with above average food but lasagna and spaghetti with meatballs were too sweet and definitely not worth the money.
If the prices were 20% less it would easily be 4 stars.
Stopped by for brunch, we were surprised how good the chicken sandwich was! Had 2 mimosas and we were good to go! Very nice service too!
We have been going to Reef since it opened- it has gone through stages that have wavered from being “okay” to “not great”. During the last year, and particularly more recently, we’ve noticed that the food has absolutely elevated. For example, the buratta used to not be great quality, and now, it is excellent. The tuna tartare- amazing now! The flavors and aesthetic presentation of the dishes, as well as the time that it takes to get your food has significantly improved.
We went to dinner there last night and were really happy to again see the difference.
The servers are knowledgeable and things just seem a lot more organized. Natalia is my favorite server- she knows already what I’m going to order to drink before I even tell her. And everyone on the staff is so pelasant as well.
Perhaps there has been a change in management. Whatever it is, I hope they keep it up.
Just ate today for 1st time. Great tasting food. Great service. Great manager. Great atmosphere. Delicious onion rings, mashed potatoes, Salmon, Mushrooms/Spinach mix, Clam Crowder, bread, and drinks.
I had the chicken sandwich and some excellent mimosas. I highly recommend this place. Tasty food and remarkable service! Nataly made us feel in a very comfy place. My husband and I definitely will come back!
Wow! What an amazing place! We had the grilled octopus, seafood pasta in white wine and the branzino. Highly recommend if you’re craving seafood. The food is fresh and delicious, the service and staff are excellent, attentive but not overbearing. A little on the pricey side but when you’re done eating you’ll realize it was worth the price. Will definitely be going back in the future. Kudos to the chef for a great meal!
I was here last year for Valentine’s Day and came back the last weekend. I need to say this restaurant is top #1 in Forest Hills. First, the raw bar is amazing, fresh and delicious, my favorite: Pan seared tuna. Second, the fishes that are served are very good portions, well seasoned and you taste the real Mediterranean food. Also they now have Dry aged steak which was amazing and worth the price and the time. We needed to wait kind of long for the food but while we were waiting the service was very good, Natalia our server, was always attentive and helpful with the questions we had related to the menu. The drinks were also very good, we had martinis and wine. Definitely will come back often.
I’ve been going to reef for about 2years now and it’s one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. It has a big beautiful open dining room with quite a bit of space in between tables. Lovely for date night or a special dinner with family. Went there for anniversary everything was delicious and our waiter was so kind!
Mother had the salmon. Nice tasty flavor with sear. I had the swordfish which was season very well. Caramelized onions as an added bonus
Had a lovely dinner here. The burrata was deliciously yummy and the lobster ravioli equally so. Creamy butter sauce. The oysters and ceviche were *chef's kiss*.
The aesthetic is intimate + beautiful, with the blue doors and outside wood and garden flow, felt like I was dining in Europe which is always a love of mine. A lovely place nearby.
