Went there to rent bike for myself, but they don’t rent bike anymore due to coronavirus. But the website didn’t specified that. Had to cancel my bike trail trip. Such a waste of time.

Stopped because I had time while waiting in the area. What a nice selection of outdoor equipment and clothing - everything very well made and built to last. Seemed like the stuff was designed by people who actually use it. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in pointing me in the right direction and making suggestions. I will go back

Great place to find just about anything you need to head out into the wilderness. Their selection of survival gear is unmatched on the island.

Great quality equipment for many outdoor activities from camping to hiking to kayaking and running. So many different things you can choose from. Lots of parking in front.

Nice selection and this store seems larger than their main on Manhattan. I still love Cabelas more, but there is none around.

The store was simply amazing this is my first time ever that I visited the store and I was just fascinated by everything they have in there everything is so cool so handy. If you know what you're looking for you will definitely get the right stuff. I was being helped by Sam who seems to have a nice knowledge of everything and also he helped me in finding the right stuff.

Definitely recommend this store for you next adventures.

I've been passing this store for years however on this particular day there was a line of people outside and I was nosey. Turned out to be the garage sale, I bought a membership, a pair of binoculars and hiking boots saved $150 first time in store, what's not to love about that?

Pretty cool place, like a smaller Cabelas almost.a little disappointed there wasnt much fishing gear, and their hats seemed a little expensive, but it was a cool store nonetheless.

I always come to REI in Carle Place because I always receive the best customer service! Every time I go in, I always try to find the man named Billy. He is always so helpful and knowledgeable about everything. I mean EVERYTHING! He always makes sure I am leaving the store happy and with the most helpful advice when I am looking for new gear! This guy is the man! Seriously, if you ever need help, find Billy! I always leave extremely satisfied! Great job REI at hiring AMAZING employees!:)

Knowledgeable and helpful staff with good so selection of gear. Mostly assume at am enthusiast level of outdoor experiences. Beyond casual but before the super niche stuff.

REI used to have the friendliest people working there.who loved helping you find just the right gear to make your outdoor experience most enjoyable. Recently however I've noticed less then enthusiastic staff who just wants to get you out the door. Is REI not paying them enough? Or are they just doing a bad job of hiring more fit for the job people? I still love REI though!

I really like this store, but the prices are high, though you may catch a good sale on occasion.

Shopping at REI is always good. Crowded today for Memorial Day weekend, but line moved fast. Staff was helpful at checkout. Got the kayak accessories l wad looking for; now the weather just needs to cooperate.

REI is an absolute go-to for anything involving the outdoors. From camping and hiking to biking and beyond. Their prices are pretty competitive with other stores and online retailers, but the real value of this place is the employees. These folks are SO knowledgeable. If you're taking on a big hike and wondering how to prepare, chances are they've already done it, and they'll steer you in the right direction equipment-wise.

Great place to shop for the outdoors. Came here to shop around for a backpack for a trip to Europe and I was flawed with so many options of bag to choose from. I was immediately introduced by an employee billy as soon as I was in the backpack area. I was so impressed with what he had showed me and the kind of knowledge he had with each item. He took his time step by step sized me up for a bag which by the way is very impressive and I had no idea even existed. He put weights in my bag to simulate how it would feel carrying the bag full. Explained the process of how to put it on and what strings to pull first. He demonstrated every little tiny details. I was amazed. He even recommended different bag. And again he sized me up and put weights and made me walk around the store! He was with me for about one hour describing me with no hesitation and with such knowledge that I was convinced I was walking away with one of the bags. I was confused with which back to get it at this point. What really surprised me was what billy said to me. “ you know what, go home and sleep on it”. Will be back 1,000% when I’m ready to pick the bag up. Great customer service. Have never seen an employee take his time like he did. Thanks again billy!

I just received a jacket that I had ordered online and they sold me a used jacke! Dirty and gum pieces in pocket with dirty inside which had been used a few times. It is a shame! I always liked the products even very overpriced, but this was really discussing. Called customer service and they want me to return it and they will send me a new one, not a friendly customer service! It is not about getting a new one, this is a crooked company selling used as new.

Beware of REI

I've to this store now a couple of times. Each time I'm rather disappointed with the experience. The selection of items is very small, shelves are constantly empty, and the store is not well laid out and organized. I'm an REI member and use to shop at the Mountain View, CA location, which is about 3x the size of this one. Think of this store as a "mini REI" that never has anything. The staff is friendly and professional as always, but what good is it when there is no inventory. Specifically.no well stocked basic Ski items like gloves, socks, etc.right in the middle of Ski season. Not for adults, or for kids. Huge disappointment! I suggest you go to a different REI that is actually run well and has good stock and inventory.
