Reichenbach Hall reviews
17The best place in NYC, if you want real German beer and food. Atmosphere was good. Everything is clean, food arrives quickly, I feel like at home. Service was excellent, Aleksandra who was out waitress is very profesional and kind! This is places we will be happy to come back!
The best German beer restaurant on Manhattan!
I’ve been to Biergartens in Europe and this place has the same atmosphere. The food is delicious and the portions are big enough.
A 100% recommendation.
We were here more than five times already. This is our favourite place to eat on Manhattan for sure. Good beer, good food, excellent service. Love it.
I would give ZERO stars if possible. We went in for one drink and wanted to be cashed out. The waitress cashed us out but never gave us the card back. We didn’t realize till much later in the evening that we didn’t get our card back, we planned on stopping by the next morning. She proceeded to STEAL our credit card and FRAUDULENTLY charge almost $2,500 to our card. We then got a call from our bank and put a hold on the card. She then proceeded to try to hack into our credit card account. Shady people, DO NOT RECOMMEND.
The Reichenbach Hall provides an authentic German beer hall experience right in the heart of NYC! The food was typical of what you would order and it was pretty good. It is one of the best places to go with a group of friends and have the typical one liter beer (they also have half liter options). I would definitely visit again with a group of friends. I ordered the Bratwurst platter with warm sauerkraut potatoes and mustard. My German colleague gave the platter a seal of approval. The beer selection is great and they even have German Glühwein (mulled wine). Ein Maß bitte!
Mushroom schnitzel was big and delicious! Service was slow and forgot my food and I had to remind them. Atmosphere is a beer hall, very fun.
Really nice atmosphere, food, service.but severely overpriced. We paid $50 for two beers alone. Didn't get any food, but looking at other tables, the portions wede extremely small. Expect to pay a minimum of $100 for two people.
Sat outside so cannot comment on atmosphere. Schnitzels were huge. Beers are huge. Service was functional but I wouldn't call it friendly.
I wish I could rate this place higher as I do think it is a good place to eat and drink, a real slice of West Germany here in NYC. However, I would advise you to proceed with care with regards to your cheque. Pay as you go is recommended as our bill for a group of 3 had extra beers and we were charged for full plates of food despite only ordering a-la-carte meat (as we wanted to try the different sausage flavours). Had we been informed that we would be charged for the entire plate despite only asking for the sausage we would have eaten elsewhere, however this only became apparent when we went to check out our bill. Despite our best efforts to come to a mediation with the duty manager all he was able to offer was apologies that his staff had made errors and offer free drinks - not what we wanted at the end of our early evening meal - more appropriate action would have been to modify the bill to reflect what we had consumed however the manager said this wasn’t possible. Disappointing considering we’ve been visiting this establishment repeatably for 6 years. Don’t let this put you off, the beer and sausage here is great, just beware of poor staff training and inadequate management (3x pax had a total bill of $600 for 3 plates of sausages and some beers)
Swedish meatballs were out of this world. Was upset they did not have the potato pancakes that was on the menu.
They ask and keep the credit card before ordering for payment guarantee. I never happend this and I visited a lot of countries and restaurants.
Regarding the food, this was acceptable except the apfelstrudel which was far away to original taste. The bier was quite ok.
Generally speaking I didn't fell confortable and welcomed.
Good Spot for a late night beer. Nice collection of German style beers. Don't try the IPA.
It's a great place to go to experience pub life in the Bavarian region. The beers are extra large, in the Octoberfest way, and the pretzels are super sized. I just wish it was a little more affordable, but when there's a place that draws a crowd like this Hall, then you can charge a little more!
I’d like to empathize how good and professional Dawa and the staff here are. Every time I come to the Reichenbach Hall my guests and I feel very comfortable and well served. Thanks, guys, for your hard job and attention with us, per usual. I really recommend this place as it’s a really authentic German spot!
On Friday of last week, a friend of mine suddenly showed up in NYC, wanted to go out for “the best beer in town. ” Well—and I know what I’m doing— there are just a few choices, but Reichenbach came to mind first. So, we arranged to meet there. And, wow, so glad we did! I hadn’t been in many many months. But, just as always previously, super nice welcome, excellent service all around and, of course, the very finest beer. By this point, I’ve lived about 2 yrs in Germany. So I know. If you want something authentic, and in a very spacious setting, with those nice high ceilings and overall good sounds and scenery, then this is it. Also, you’ll arrive at feeling to get into the dinner menu. You’ll be glad you did.
Underwhelming. Food, service, ambiance was all mediocre at best. We came for Oktoberfest and despite their website saying there would be live music and games there was nothing going on. Tourist trap and nothing more.
We eat here every visit. This trip our obsession was the Jager Schnitzel, chicken. Enough to share and too much if you start with the fantastic Currywurst. The beers and ciders are excellent. The servers are kind and patient with demanding tourists. It’s a great place to
people watch, drink a few and eat well. We’ll be back
