Location:
Very close to Tourist areas such as Time Square and Central Park.

Parking: We had a passenger van and a Uhaul trailer (Business Travel) the staff was able to find us a safe parking lot for an additional fee but was close and hard to find in such a busy city. Parking is Free on Sundays on the street.

Room:
Tiny/NYSmall sized rooms, cozy, clean, modern and well furnished. Beautiful view as half of the room is a window I can see the Hudson River, Central Park and the ball drop.

Kitchen:
MICROWAVE! As well as well equipped with coffee maker, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, ice maker and sink.

Staff:
Nice, friendly and helpful.

Status:
Marriott Platinum Members

Pro: Close to Time Square
Con: Elevator can take a long time (30+ mins) during rush hour. Had to go down 39 flights of stairs

The stay at this hotel has ben a mixed bag. On one side the room is great and has an amazing view. On the other side most of the employees are unable to send my folio through email and are firm that they do not possess the capability to do that. Funny thing a few employees are able with no effort but they are not available all the time. Some employees are rude or flat out unpleasant to deal with and show no interest on helping. Time is very important to me and I hate wasting it. I don't even like having to do this review but this is outrageous. This morning I asked an employee in the front desk to please zero my bill up til yesterday and politely asked if he could send it to my email. He very pleasantly said yes. Now for some reason I still have not receive the email. It has been more than an hour. I understand that errors can be made and things happen so I called the front desk and a lady answered. Without allowing me to speak she place me on hold. I have been hold for 35 minutes and counting. In fact as I am writing this I am still on hold. I had a great experience at my stay on Residence Inn East Midtown but so far Central Park has been disappointing to say the least.

I was denied a suite night award request, despite the room I requested being available to book as of the morning of my check-in. I mentioned this to the front desk worker upon my arrival, but was still denied any form of upgrade. Additionally, I borrowed an umbrella for an evening, returned it that same night, and was hit with a $20 charge on my bill despite notifying the front desk employee of my room number after returning the umbrella. The rooms are alright, but the rest of my experience at this hotel left much to be desired.

True, I post this note before I stay at the hotel but they have already tried so hard to make my life difficult and miserable that it is worth letting you know that their availability and their willingness to help is close to 0/10. Being put on hold for 15-20' is the maximum they will do for you (and take it from an Elite Titanium for Life!)

Great view, great location, comfortable bed and bedding, kitchenette well stocked. Dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Loved it.

Great location, rooms are only okay though, could be a lot cleaner, and they desperately need better TP, but you can't beat the location and cost

Clean rooms, great staff. Good location.
Small rooms, various configurations. Great views. Free breakfast is really awful, but plenty of breakfast options nearby, including a coffee cart on the corner.

As a Bonvoy Titanium member who travels a great deal professional and personally, I have a deep appreciation for when a hotel simply gets it all right - and with this notion, I will say that the team at the Residence Inn / Court Yard Central Park is exceptional in every way. Outside of majestic, sweeping Central Park views perched from the clouds that make up the Manhattan skyline that provides all visitors with such a unique view of town from the tallest hotel in North America from well appointed, clean rooms - what really stands out is the service at this particular property. From the team at the bell desk to the wonderful staff at the front desk, including the front desk supervisor Pamela (who has been of great assistance to me and has made my frequent visits to this particular property easy and enjoyable), to the helpful staff providing me with my breakfast in the morning, everything about both the connecting Residence Inn and Courtyard properties is EXCEPTIONAL. What is surprising is that, in particular with the high-floor Residence Inn portion of the hotel, is that in my opinion, this is unquestionably by far the best property to stay at in NYC. A welcoming, helpful, and knowledgable staff combined with the best views of New York City. I wake up each morning from high in the clouds thinking I am in heaven. And that feeling is priceless!

The view of the New York skyline was absolutely breathtaking, but I did find myself a bit disappointed with the overall room itself. The TV didn't work properly and the room itself was fairly small for the price which we paid. I don't necessarily think it lives up to the price, however, was a nice stay with my girlfriend overall. Also, the front desk was very responsive and was happy to help us with what they could.

Stayed from 5/31-6/1. Staff was very efficient and friendly. Great location and view. But room was not the cleanest, which is a big problem while still having a ongoing pandemic. The drawer also couldn’t close and was very wear down. My kid ran into it twice. (You can see the stains on the furniture and how it just remains open.). At least was expecting functional furnitures but oh well.

Also the elevator was loud for room 4704. Not sure if that’s the case for other rooms but in case anyone is a light sleeper.

Very nice hotel staff. Rooms don’t have the regular kitchenette that other Residence Inns have. But, I was happy there was a fridge/freezer unit, plates & glassware that I used daily. I liked the central location, too. Just a short walk to Central Park.

We stayed at the Residence Inn just as it and NYC were opening back up. I'm from NYC, but have spent the past 2/3 of my life away and I'm a senior now. I mention this because I'm not starry-eyed about coming to NYC for the first time. I am critical about places that don't measure up to my expectations, but we loved this hotel for many reasons that I'll now touch upon.
We arrived a few hours before check-in time and the associate/security person at the entrance, Mr. Eric, held our bags for us until our room was ready and we returned. We were checked in by Jennifer and I'll make special mention here about how friendly she was throughout the stay along with the other front desk employees. We constantly heard, "Welcome back" and "Have a great day! " as we entered and left the premises. They actual notice you and don't turn their backs on you to avoid eye contact. Not a single time were we not greeted upon entering and exiting. I needed change of a bill one time and lost my key another time and Jennifer was at the ready to assist me. Thank you!
The Residence Inn where we stayed occupies the 35-65th floors of the building and the Courtyard occupies the lower floors. I hope that I didn't make the building shorter or taller than it actually is. The 4th floor is where you can pick up a free breakfast snack and free SBUX coffee on your way out the door for both hotels. The front desk manages both hotels. They'll point you to the correct elevators for each. The four elevators are fast and we never had to wait more than a minute during our 58th floor stay. From our room we had peek views of Central Park and the Hudson and East Rivers. I have to say that it's quiet up there, although you do hear the occasional emergency vehicle. The rooms are well-insulated from sound and a comfortable temperature could easily be maintained.
The hotel is located on eastbound 54th Street, just west of Broadway. There is a nice Greek diner (Applejack Diner) around the corner on Broadway if you want a taste of NY that isn't a chain. Their menu is so extensive as is typical of a NY diner. The hotel is close to Central Park and Times Square and taxis are plentiful on Broadway if you want to avoid the subway, as we did. We'll be back.
