Residence Inn by Marriott Poughkeepsie

The Residence is always great place to stay in my work travels. The rooms at this hotel are among the best around. My only complaint with this particular Inn was the TV. It hardly had any good selections in the channels that were offered.

When i finish for the day, i want to be able to come back and relax and just enjoy some entertaining shows and it left me bored so that was my reaspn for the 4 stars.

Otherwise, they are deserving of 5 stars in every other aspect.
I will go back to a Residence Inn anytime my destination calls for it.

Staff was great, very attentive to our needs. Any issue we had was taken care of immediately, and there were only two. A room we were out 8n had only a portable air conditioner, and when I called the desk they moved me to another room immediately. Very happy with the hotel, very clean. The breakfast was wonderful, the staff who prepared it and put it out were fantastic. Fresh and delicious. Coffee all day was great as well. Will be staying here again for sure.

We went for a single night but it was lovely. Very clean hotel and beautifully decorated. Room was large and comfortable with great bath products. We also brought our 3 small dogs and the hotel was incredibly accommodating. We didn’t use the pool or gym but it looked nice passing by. Very close to restaurants and a Starbucks.

We had a nice one night stay here. Check in was painless and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite on the fourth floor. The room was nicely appointed and comfortable. Breakfast had a nice selection.

We stayed in the area for dinner at the Culinary Institute of America and was a quick 15 minute drive. There are plenty of things in the area to get into.

Would happily stay again.

I always like to come back to this hotel. The other hotels in the vicinity are also excellent, but I simply feel most comfortable here.

The room was really worth the price. Front desk folks very really polite and nice. But the room wasn’t so cleaned. May be they can improve here

Not the standard I'm used to from Marriott.
The front door did not close tightly, the air conditioning was noisy, only one window could be opened and the flame in the fireplace could not be turned off.
The breakfast must also be taken with plastic dishes and paper cups. Most of the bread was still frozen, but the scrambled eggs, bacon and fresh fruit were all right. But you can't speak of a rich buffet.
This hotel has left the best of times far behind.
The proximity to IBM was the main reason I booked here. But that won't be the case next time.

We stayed here once, and never need to stay here again. Not impressed with this Residence Inn or Marriott property! We had a 1 bedroom suite booked with the pullout couch for a friend who was along with this. Room #1 (we had 3 total before we had one in satisfactory condition!) the couch was stained and the couch mattress was lumpy stained and filled with food crumbs. The room was missing the extra bed linens. For the price we paid this was not acceptable. We went to the front desk and spoke with Daisy (who was phenomenal at service recovery!) who gave us another room to look at… Room #2 was much the same- the couch mattress was heavily used, stained and dirty with food crumbs. We debated finding another hotel at this point. We have stayed at Residence Inns and never had such cleanliness issues. So it was back down to Daisy and seeing what could be done. She told us she “just had a 2 bedroom cancellation” come in (that’s strangely coincidental but not gonna argue). We went to check out this new 2 bedroom suite and it was in much better condition plus no need for the pullout couch. We opened the couch just to see what it looked like and it looked in better condition than the other 2 rooms. Again this room had no extra linens for the couch which seemed strange but we didn’t need them anyway this time.

They offer free breakfast which is nice for a quick bite or coffee before you go out. There is a Starbucks next door which helps. We did hit up the CVS and Red Robin which were both within walking distance, so of everything the hotel is in a good location!

I was not wowed by the rooms or this hotel in general. The mattress was adequate but a bit firm for me. The bathroom fan was a noise nightmare lol but at this point it’s just a room. Overall the hotel looks in good condition but start looking at the finer details and you notice it needs a refresh badly. Next time I’m in the area I will be staying at a different Marriott property.

The hotel is VERY clean, hygiene is one of my top priorities when it comes to hotels. The indoor pool area is heated, it felt so good in the middle of winter. The pool and whirlpool is again, so clean! Every single one of the staff members at the Poughkeepsie location are friendly and professional. We will definitely be returning!

If I could give a lower score I would but there was one staff member there that I loved and she is the one who deserves the whole star. Briana at the front desk is amazing! You made our stay so much nicer! But there were a pair if underwear in our room that belonged to no one in our party, and honestly I didn't think a very small partial refund was enough to make up for that. We won't be going back, which is again sad because Briana was an absolute treat!

Can’t say enough good things I was here for 2 months staff was extremely helpful and kind whenever I needed something they sent to me in a short time
They offered coffee and juices all day, the breakfast I just say was so good and they switched it up
The rooms were clean and no issues with hot water
The only thing I was disappointed was the pool was not heated and it was indoor but my son loved it the jacuzzi was awesome place was clean housekeeping and maintenance were superb the front desk more then accommodating definitely worth the money love the laundry room and there was always a cart when you needed one and they had a fire pit and bbq grill for all the guest
Awesome place made nice friends here highly recommended it?

Recently stayed a night to attend Rhinebeck fair. The hotel was clean, quiet and the staff was friendly. Definitely planning on staying here again. Full breakfast was ok, lots of choices. Pool was clean but spa not working. Overall excellent rating.

Room is nice as a typically expected of a Residents Inn.but I REALLY wish they mentioned that the pool/hot tub area closed at 8pm at check in. I literally spent hours and most of my points on a place that had a hot tub and we couldn't even use it.most Marriott places close at 10/11 pm.not 8. Really, really disappointed. Was hoping to come back in the future but now reconsidering based on lack on info.

Smells stinky and gave me a portable AC instead of central AC in the room. It is too much noisy and not working very well. Outside looks decent and nice but inside, they have to clean better.
