Retina Associates of New York reviews
18Very quick and professional services rendered. Have been going to them for the last three or four years.
Excellent technical equipment supports a talented staff and Dr. Paccione is experienced, thoughtful and an excellent explainer. Grateful and fully satisfied.
Dr Cohen & Dr Lane are AMAZING! I’ve been going to them for treatment for the past year every 6 weeks. From the first day to the last they’ve been great! I couldn’t be happier or recommend them more. I went from one eye dr telling me I will be blind in 5 yrs to a consult/treatment with Dr Cohen & Dr Lane and a yr later my eyes are “healed” and almost back to normal vision. They are caring, compassionate from the staff at the front desk to the techs and drs. Thank you!
Came here to get a retina consultation to be approved for Lasik. It's been 2 weeks since my appointment (which they rescheduled twice, once only 1.5 hours before the appointment.). It's impossible to talk to anyone to get a copy of my report. I was told it was 3-5 business days to complete the report, which is strange since I got a copy of a report the same day from a different retina specialist. I've called back multiple times to be told the only person in charge of the medical records isn't there, also unusual since at the other office the receptionist literally printed it off and handed it to me on the spot. I have yet to obtain this report.
Please don't waste your time here.
Worst experience ever!
I had an appointment at 10: 45 for an eye exam and came before my appointment time and was told I’ll be seen right away then waited for more than 2 hours to be seen and was never made clear to me or informed how long I’ll have to wait and every time I asked the receptionist lied and said I’m next without providing any information about what that means.
After waiting for more than two hours a doctor finally came and called my name took me to the exam room to weirdly find it occupied by another person and then was like oh sorry wait here until they finish and went to see another patient and now they are done with the exam room and I’m waiting for him to come back from wherever he went!
I missed my opthomolgost appointment because of them today and I have glamours and it’s time sensitive.
Very disappointed and will never be back here and would not recommend this place to anyone.
Update: after all this time waiting he came back and when I asked if I’m going to be seen now it’s been long wait with no respect to my time and whatsoever he said oh make it three hours when I said I’ve been waiting for more than 2 hours.
Everyone that I encountered at this medical facility has been very professional - from the receptionists, technicians to the specialist Dr. Ben Cohen. Dr. Cohen inspires confidence and has excellent bedside manner. He was very focused and thorough and I knew I was in very competent hands. I will gladly recommend him to anyone that needs his type of specialization, although I think that he only deals in very specialized cases and other Opthalmologists (like my doctor) are the ones referring patients to him since he’s one of the finest in his field.
They were all very nice and friendly. They explain to me the process before doing the procedures.
Dated systems, poor organization, inefficient for patients. Clocks seem to work differently here as appointment times are more like general time
blocks with optional +/- 1 hour start times. I spent a total of 2.5 hours for what should have been a 30 minute or less checkup appointment. While staff was polite and professional individually, I had to answer the same questions multiple times due to paper forms and lack of communication. Inefficient systems leaves patients largely directionless waiting around in 20 minute blocks between eye tests.
Dr. Tseng is awesome. He's always pleasant and takes his time. I never evet feel rushed. He explains everything to me and makes sure that I am satisfied with my care and understand my follow up.
I enjoyed how it felt like I had a small team of friendly, dedicated doctors and nurses to facilitate my overall visit. The testing was straightforward and I was given a referral at the end to further my testing.
Dr. Paccione saved my vision. Incredibly skilled and caring professional, can't thank him enough.
Efficient and attentive! I liked the fact I could book an appointment on line and get reminders via text.
The place is spotless, and I saw efforts to wipe everything down between patients. State-of-the-art equipment and very personable staff.
Dr. Cohen is very thorough and thoughtful about identifying solutions to challenging medical diagnoses.
Dr. Tseng was very kind and attentive, and a good listener. He made me feel welcome and comfortable as a patient. I feel confident about entrusting him with my eye care.
There is no better, no more comprehensive exam than at Retina Associates. The staff is wonderful.and Dr Cohen is exceptional! I used to bring my mother to him to treat her Macular Degeneration. His kindness and care are second to none!
I was referred to Dr. Cohen for possible surgery, but after an extensive series of tests he concluded further laser treatment might resolve the issue, leaving surgery as a last resort. I think there's something noteworthy about a surgeon deferring surgery. But aside from his medical expertise I want to note something particularly special about Dr. Cohen and his staff. In the midst of these tests I received word that my wife was on her way to Mt. Sinai Hospital with a medical emergency. After relaying this information to the staff member administering the particular test, she and another staff member made sure that I was moved along quickly to the remaining test and then to Dr. Cohen to review the.results. That is a level of caring i have not found widely present in the medical profession today. It speaks highly of Dr. Cohen and his dedication to his patients.
Great facility. Very friendly staff and doctors. The only recommendation I would give is that the staff communication could be improved to their patients. You get shuffled around a lot w little information.
Dr. Nadel is superb! I highly recommend him. The staff at Retina Associates are very efficient as well.
