I joined Retro Fitness about a month ago & so far it’s going good I can’t complain. My trainer is Mesha & hands down she’s the best trainer. Mesha has a good vibe that makes you feel comfortable to train with her even for me that I’m a beginner with zero experience. She’s profesional, encouraging and very knowledgeable when it comes to correcting your form & explaining which muscles every exercise targets. It’s a love hate relationship but she definitely motivates me & pushes me to my potential even when I want to give up. Im currently doing a 90 Day Challenge at the gym with a group of ladies at the gym & I’m really excited to see my results!

This gym by far is the best gym i have seen in nyc. Maybe some might not agree with me, but if you are into straight up into bodybuilding and beach body this is the gym. Heavy weights.area for you to do your cardio, spinning classes, you name it. The only they don't have is a sauna, but i mean come on this is a gym not a spa.so go and get that bodybuilding or beach body at retro.

Personal trainers at this location are the biggest scams!

After doing a free session for personal training, I was somehow convinced to do a 12 months contract. I was not aware are that the sessions were only 30 minutes because the trainer was not clear about the process. I tried to cancel the contract because I'm not willing to pay a large amount of money just for a 30 minute session just for once a week, but I was told I could be cancel. I'm highly not satisfied with the service.

Retro fitness glendale is the best retro fitness in the tristate area, and I visited betlahan, Connecticut, Jersey and Rhode island.

I was offered a free session of personal training and somehow I got roped into signing a contract of 12 months. First, Retro Fitness needs to properly trained their staffs. The trainer didn't informed me that the session was 30 minutes and is once a week. The trainers only go over the pricing because the money is more important to them than the customer satisfaction. I tried to cancel the membership immediately once I learned I had to pay 229 monthly for a 30 minute session that's not even worth it. I was told I couldn't cancel because I was still in the contract. They gave me the option to deferred my account which means pausing the membership, but I will still have to pay for the sessions. Now they forcing me to pay for a service that I don't want. I will not be returning at all. Also be aware that if the trainers tell you that you can cancel the membership anytime you want, that's a lie, they just trying to make you sign the contract and once you sign the contract you not allow to cancel the membership. I was mislead I was told I could cancel the personal membership whenever I wanted to, I was not properly inform about the important facts about the contract. If you contact the managers about the situation they won't try to help you at all. Be aware this is a SCAM!

VULTURES. STAY AWAY! They will keep charging you after you cancel your membership. Many of their locations have shut down, and I'll be much happier when this one follows.

Beware of this gym and their financial schemes. Gym suck. Overcrowded. Not to mention got the run around game when attempted to cancel membership.won’t be long till it goes under.

I just want to thank Siied for the training! He listened to the goal I wanted to achieve and drafted the perfect workouts for it! He helped me lose fat and build a lot of muscle!

I used to go ther a few years ago. It’s nice but there’s too many people there n some do one set n rest for 5 10 mins between sets? , not good. There are times when I also want to do legs but there’s 3 people there. Oh and one time I went early in the morning and there was no lie but 3 guys using all the chest workouts, really, he wanted me to wait? Yea ok. Anyway, I got fed up n quit. I’m old school, I take the most 2min rest between sets so I train at home just to keep in shape.

Decent gym at best. There are nicer RetroFitness locations but this one is pretty decent. The staff is friendly and the machines are a mixture of new and old. Not the easiest to get to with public transportation but there is a large parking lot. The membership policies here are pretty ridiculous. When/If you become a member, make sure you understand every single detail before signing up.

So happy my 1 year was up. Went and joined back to a real gym. Not nearly enough equipment for the amount of people in there; and I was going in the morning before 10am.

This gym is amazing. Its has everything you need to succeed and more. I like the special movie room where you can get some good cardio done of the treadmill while watching a movie in a dark theater. Very nice staff and food location will definitely be going back often

The other Retro gyms let you cancel over the phone without any sort of issue. I know since i used to work at a Retro fitness gym. This one gives you the runaround and demands that you come in person to cancel. Obviously that's not feasible for many people as a change in location might be the very reason why they want to cancel since they are unable to travel to that location. My membership was transferred from the retro I was formerly employed at to this one.

Too expensive for the area there s no public transportation near by and you forced to drive there. Gym looks ok clean its excellent but gets overcrowded. Too pricey and too many juice heads. Decided to go to frenchie Gym Brooklyn hard core old school Gym a real clean hardcore gym.

Great staff, bunch of machines, variety of equipment, everyone gets what they need for their workout, unless its a monday

I like Retro over planet it has much more variety than just machines and treadmills, and while Tanning is extra i think not a big deal i can wait til summer i am assuming people that are complaining come during a peak time I usually come between 1 and 3 and it’s pretty empty, the staff is always nice and so far everything is always clean I’m sure when there is a rush of people things get a little dirty the cleaning crew can only do so much, some of the members need to be a bit more hygienic you nasty bastids.

Very nice set-up. Not crowded if you go any time from 4-8 am, Mon-Fri. Good luck with the crowd if you go any later than that.

My only complaint is that the gym needs better air circulation with the air inside being pushed out and the air outside being brought in. As soon as I walk into Retro the odor of sweat slams me in the face. It’s not like that at other comparable gyms. The staff was polite to me. The equipment seems like standard gym equipment at similar priced gyms, no complaint here. The parking is why I joined. Other gyms in the area don’t have free parking. I do wish the locker room had a dry floor (same air circulation issue).

This gym has the equipment for every body part and cardio. It has towels and a water fountain. It has excellent open hours with the exception of Sundays being very short closing at 7pm.
