Richard J. Simmons, M.D. reviews
11My Granddaughter has been seeing Dr Simmons since she was 5 when she got a concussion and still she's her today for chronic migraines he is one of the best children's Nero Doctor In the area of my experience
We have been going to Dr. Simmons for 2 years for my son and not only is he a great neurologist, he really understands kids. He takes the time to really get to know them and has a great demeanor. Highly recommend him!
Best neurologist you could ask for. He’s caring, loves his job and knows how to put things in terms you can understand! Anybody would be blessed to have him as their or their child’s neurologist.
I’m not sure I can begin to explain how terrible this offices is. They don’t care about your child. Terribly hard two years this little boy has already had eye surgery, could not get the records from Columbia no effort on the Office part. After a year of seeing this doctor finally genetic testing was done. Received a phone call that this child will never talk and never walk. Best I can do for you is referral to a genetic specialist. Four weeks since this devastating news not so much as a phone call from the office knowing where to turn next.
He is awesome! Being a mother of special needs kids is hard, but to have him on the team is a blessing. He is honest, realistic, and most of all understanding. He takes his time to make sure you understand the issue, and he works hard to get a solution, if not stability at least. I appreciate his patience most of all! I sleep better at night because he is on my children’s team. He is a blessing! Been to many child neurologist, he is hands down beyond competent, for a better quality of life for children. He is big deal! There will never be another him, ever!
We've had a fantastic experience with Dr. Simmons. He is so wonderful with the patients (our son is 1.5 years old). He is calm, experienced and empathetic. He's fast acting to get our son the items needed to develop a game plan (MRI, gen testing) and fabulous at communication throughout the processes. If you're in an unenviable situation like us where you need to see a pediatric neuro, see him:)
It's always will wait and see.it's always a long waiting room wait then in back room an hour or more wait with autistic children this Really throws off the whole day / routine.dr Simmons over talks the parents who actually know best
Dr. Simmons is knowledgeable, open-minded and has the best interests of the children at heart. He takes a collaborative approach with the family. After several negative experiences with Albany Med neurologists, I am happy that he is in charge of my daughter's care.
The office lady lied and was rude. We were late and she offered us an appointment at 2: 30 which she said 2: 30 and we went to get something to eat and came back at exactly 2: 30 well there was another lady checking us in. And this lady got up from what she was doing went over to the desk and gave a whole attitude and said I said 2: 15 not 2: 30 I’m not gonna argue with you then she rolled her eyes.doctor Simmons is an amazing neurologist but we could even get in to see him cause the people at the desk completely lied and of course I’m gonna give an attitude back cause I was receiving it.me and my mother thought it was completely unprofessional and not okay.especially to talk to a child like that in anyway
Dr Simmons was amazing. He took the time to really talk to my child and hear what she was saying. He made sure he explained things to her in terms she was understanding. In pediatrics, it is so important to not only communicate with the patent, but also the child, so that everyone is comfortable with the plan moving forward.
Dr. Simmons listened to my daughter and when his test was inconclusive and she suggested an eye exam, he referred us to another specialist who diagnosed her primary issue. Dr. Simmons stayed involved to help our daughter solve other troubling symptoms. He's a gem!
