Rick's Recycled Books reviews
18Going here is going on an organized chaos treasure hunt. It's got the book shop smell and the tight shelving that bows at the weight of all of the books. Prices are reasonable and owner is ready to help. It's a great, tucked away spot if you're a used bookstore lover.
Just went into the store to take a look with two of my friends. Just to note me and one of my friends are black. We walked in and the man working did not say hello when we did. Then after walking around for maybe 40 seconds he comes up to us and asks if we are looking for something in particular? We replied no as we just wanted to look around. The man then Rolled his eyes and purposefully followed us around the store. We didn’t stay for very long as I felt uncomfortable because the man acted as if he did not want customers in the store. As a Black woman I did not feel welcome or safe here.
I went to Rick's for the first time today and it felt like home - a wide variety of books, Rick is kind and helpful, it's warm and cozy and comfortable
Great used bookstore with a quite varied selection and very reasonable prices, with one of the largest science fiction sections I've seen in such a store. Highly recommend browsing through this place!
Lots of used books for great prices. Although the aisles are very small and cramped, this place is like a wonderland for lost books looking for a good home. Although I think they need someone to help with the organization.
It is c h a o t i c in here, so be warned but a lot of fun if you're up for it! I prefer to buy used books and have a running list of titles I want to keep an eye out for, so this is a perfect spot to search for them. If you're like me and want finding a book in the wild to be part of the experience, you'll love it.
Visited this bookstore while in the area. It’s the perfect place for the average reader - so many books to look at, has that old bookstore feel where you hunt for your finds. The owner was very helpful too: I gave him my phone with my to-read list, and he trotted around the store helping me find the ones he had. I could have spent hours in here! If you’re looking for more technical or non-fiction books (textbooks, higher level learning, etc.), there isn’t much here. But if you’re like me and love fiction and memoirs and stuff like that, there’s no end in sight for options. 10/10
If you enjoy hunting through piles of books for hidden treasure, this is the place for you. The books are intuitively organized, and the proprietor checked on us to make sure we were finding what we wanted. My in-laws want to come here every time they visit.
What a nice surprise this place was! HUGE selection of all kinds of books. I will definitely return!
They have an incredible selection of books, especially in the fiction section. Plus, the owner is super kind and helpful.
Along with more recent authors, like King, Koontz & Cook, I am always looking for older authors like HG Wells, Asimov, Burroughs, etc. And Rick's have many new, and older authors.
Keeps me coming back.
An avalanche of books. We got lost for about an hour and came out with a lot of sci fi for cheap.
Have found many jems here- everything from Alan Watts, to Anais Nin- to Huxley to finding a copy of the I Ching. Rick’s a great person, the prices are amazing & he knows where everything is & wether or not he has it on the shelves. Thank you!
I love this book store! It has a really nice and warm atmosphere/vibe, and the books are in great shape. The owner is so nice and came to greet us and gave us the layout of the store. A great place to visit and find amazing books!
I really love Rick's because there is a great find every single time I'm in there. And Rick has the best prices in town for books of all genres and movies. Absolutely great on a bookstore crawl and highly recommended. It's very stuffed to the gills, but dig and you will find great stuff.
Gave me a good deal on buying some used books that I sold. Eclectic collection of just about everything you could be looking for.
Plentiful amount of books.
Store is tight and books more on the floors than on the shelves.
Book subjects are grouped together.
Authors are not ABC order just put in the subject section.
If you have the TIME then this charming little used book store is the place to check out.
I did find a book I was not particularly looking for from an author I read years ago and liked tho.
4 star due to disorganized, cramped, clutter, hard to find author set up.
Absolutely LOVE this place! All used books at amazing prices! Pretty much everything is 4$ or lower.
My wife and I are pretty avid readers so we are constantly swapping out books. We always bring them there for store credit which is nice, I believe he also allows you to sell him books for cash as well.
Can be a little crowded in there at times.but hey that just means it's a good place to be and that hes got something the people want!
