RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns, Wheatley Heights NY

Wonderful experience for everyone. They had pumpkin designs of all kinds. Classics, new things, I mean everything. This is a must see for holiday event. It may seem packed in the beginning as every starts to take photos the minute they enter, but then it starts to scatter out, not leaving you on top of others or waiting to take pics. Loved the experience and wasn’t overbearingly long.

First time ever going. We had a really fun time. Even though it was raining with the tree cover we didn’t get soaked. The path was very easy to walk. The displays were amazing. The carvers & display makers are really talented. We will definitely be back next year.

It was nice. Overall a good experience but most of the pumpkins were larger figures made from multiple pumpkins rather than the intricate carvings on one pumpkin. Other Jack O'Lantern walks have had pumpkins with celebrities/characters faces carved into them, or elaborate themes. This walk just had a lot of little pumpkins with generic faces carved and a few structures made from pumpkins. It really wasn't bad but It wasn't anything particularly memorable either. Main point is, I just won't be going again nor strongly recommend it for a fun family outing, it just wasn't that. My 4.5 year old couldn't have cared less for them either.

As someone who had been to this event at the prior location, I felt a bit disappointed in the pumpkins this year. However, the trail was super beautiful and well lit up which made for a fun walk. Certainly expect to find many people on the path though, it is sometimes hard to navigate around the many large groups of people and the individuals who stop to look or take pictures, I did feel that it was crowded.

After receiving a response for the business owner I need to say they are right. They never had some of the bigger show stoppers I thought I remembered. I had previously attended Blaze. It was definitely a superior experience. They had large displays and my kids were more impressed by Blaze, as was I.

Original review: I was disappointed at the changes from last year, maybe due to the new location?
There weren’t big displays. Last year we attended at Old Westbury Gardens and there was a large tunnel and a multi-car train. This year there were no big displays like that which was a surprise. It was still an interesting thing to do with my toddlers but definitely was missing the “wow” element without the large displays.

The Rise of the Jack O’Lanterns is an incredible display of artistry and entertainment combined in one. Every carving was extreme detailed. It Wowed everyone with me. A definite must next year for us.

Loved it. The screen videos were priceless. Old spooky movies. I was shocked to see "Carnival of Souls" pieces in 1 of the movie bits. I always thought that was a pretty much unknown film like "Black Orpheus".
The ghouls & pumpkins were fantastic.

The Spooky Halloween trail was better than I imagined. The artistry of the pumpkin carvings were superb! I highly recommend attending. They should do another one soon, maybe a Christmas/ Winter Wonderland!?

Really great location! Such a nice walk through the pumpkins. Great stuff.

My only complaint, and it’s a small one. I would have preferred a few more individually carved pumpkins. Rather than the larger multi pumpkin displays.

This event falls short when compared to what it used to be, and what is offered at The Blaze (Old Bethpage Restoration). The displays are very static- nearly every display is a bunch of fake pumpkins glued to the same sized board with an image carved on it. Gone are the days when the pumpkins were used to create the structures/ sculptures. The trail is long, which makes everything seem too spread out and dark. Honestly, we were bored by the time we finished walking the trail. We also noticed that the trail lacks any strong theming- the displays bounce from one subject to the next, and the real carved pumpkins don't coorespond to what display they are lying in front of.

Skip this and go to The Blaze instead.

It could have been illuminated more. More photo op with better lighting make it more cost effective for families

RISE of the Jack O'Lantern was so entertaining. We've also been to Blaze at Bethpage. While it is a good show, it doesn't compare to RISE. We can't wait to come back next year. Matthew Perry tribute was very nice

Nice job lots to look at but website should put you have to climb up some pretty steep terrain! Especially for people with back problems or any problems for that matter! Was more challenging for me but other than pain it was beautiful and clean my kids loves it!

This event far exceeded my expectations. The level of artistry in the pumpkins was epic! There should be a BTS video on the carving of them all.from the simplest to the most intricate. It was definitely worth the cost - the trail was very long - a lot of bang for your buck! Have been raving about this to all my friends and family.
