Rosamond Gifford Zoo reviews
36This is the first zoo I've been to where, on average, the animals don't look sad and forlorn. Good zoo.
Nice place, animals kinda lazy as it was 80 degrees, but park is pretty clean. Lots to see in a small space, outstanding elephant enclosure, nice penguin area too. Definitely worthy of visiting
The zoo was under construction, possibly new areas? Some areas were closed due to "current events". Kids still had a blast.
This is a great zoo. It's on the small side, but well taken care of and a wide variety of exhibits. We usually go 3-4 times a year and have never been sorry to go.
Amazing collection of cold weather Asian animals. Loved seeing the Amur Tigers out in the snow. Inside exhibits include marvelous aquatic species such as sea horses. You should visit now to watch the Red Panda babies, Loofah and Doofah. Enjoyed veggie pizza and great fries for lunch.
This zoo is a ton of fun and surprisingly big for the Syracuse area. The staff is very kind and certainly humane towards the animals. The zoo is very well taken care of with many different species to see. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.
Visited Zoo last Saturday and all the animals were active and most were outside! Loved the leopard cubs!
I love this Zoo. Its a great place to bring the kids on nice days. The new elephant exhibit is so much better than it used to be. It can get pretty packed in the main building, but once you're out and about its very pleasant. The penguin exhibit is also very cool. They also do special events like the dinosaur event this year which was great!
This zoo is AMAZING! My husband and I went here for a date day and were not disappointed. I hope we make this a regular place to visit!
The zoo is always improving it's grounds over the years it has be just getting better and better other than the construction of the deer and elk it's pretty much the same ole zoo!
This Zoo has came a long way. A lot of activities for children. Price is great for admission. I love fish and they have great fish exhibits. Only complaint is the Jungle Cafe. The food is mediocre to poor and quite pricey and the service is quite slow.
I Love this place. Loads fun for the family to enjoy time together learning about animals from all over the world.
A moderatly large zoo, lots of species and many enclosures designed to have the animals move close to the viewers
Love the elephants!
I just came back from Phoenix Arizona. Their zoo has 3 elephants which don't get along, so there is only 1 out at a time
This is such a nice zoo! So many exhibits for such a great price! The only disappointing thing is that we went on a really hot day in August and almost all of the snack and ice cream shops were closed. It was near the end of the summer, so it may have just been a staffing issue. Overall a great place with a nice variety of healthy animals to enjoy. We also really liked the gem mining and dinosaur exhibit that was running at the time.
Place looks run down, sad. I honestly felt depressed after I visited here. Hardly no animals. Bleh. Waste of money. You'd have more fun at a Sky Chief game.
A large and speaking zoo but still left feeling disappointed. I'm sure children would love it more than I did. While the animals had large captivities I felt unimpressed by their actual habitats. There also seemed to be too large of gaps between exhibits where more enclosures could be included to provide a larger array of animals. Or even space to include more interactive and educational installations. Something to make the trip a bit more immersive rather than a disappointing journey through the winding paths. They could really take inspiration from The Wild out in chittenango. I could use a bit of sprucing up and a more cohesive layout.
Maybe it was the time of year we went, but many of the animals were not included. The fish were pretty cool, though, and we had a good time walking around.
Great zoo compared to our local zoo. Been there a handful of times and always have a good time. Can’t wait until my son is a little older and can really enjoy it. Worth the trip.
