Rough Trade NYC reviews
15Great spot for new releases. They also have a used vinyl section. Bought a few used Metal albums.
I did an online order and forgot to put my apartment number on it and USPS returned it to sender, so I called them and explained it’d be coming back their way and asked if I could pay additional shipping to just get it sent back to me instead of refunded. I updated my address with them and they put a note on the order, they shipped it right back out to me as soon as they got it and didn’t even ask me to pay extra postage. Great customer service
I loved the Brooklyn store- huge space, free ping pong, large concert space, beverages, reading area. This shop in Manhattan has none of this. The rent must be through the roof, being at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. It's a cute store, though with a helpful staff.
Awful - terrible customer service as it is almost impossible to email a real human. I got sent a record I pre-ordered in March, arrived in December and is officially the most warped record I have ever seen in my life. Order #1883597
DO NOT BUY
Cool place. Was expecting a little more diverse selection, but that could be just due to how vinyl records are made in the supply chain.
Scammed me out of about $20 on their site by charging $25 for media mail shipping. Staff were rude and refused to help in any way. The store itself has a bad selection and is overpriced (as you'd expect given the area it's in). You're better off taking your business elsewhere.
Attended a live performance and Q&A. Vinyl's were pre-signed. They had us sit on the floor which was uncomfortable but allowed others to see.
Right in Rock Center. Decent selection of new releases, used, psych, small bins of blues and jazz. A fun place to hit if you're in NYC. The usual books and tshirts too.
Nice little record store with a good range of new and used vinyl. Staff are very friendly and on hand to help. Good live events too!
Zero staff interaction and so/so selection make this record store average as far as record stores go. It was kind of like they took the vinyl section of Urban Outfitters and made a generic store out of it.
I went there a long time ago but still one of my fav place in NYC! But it was in Williamsburg, I hope the place is cool too (I'm not a huge fan of Manhattan). Cheers!
Great record shop
Loads of vinyl at reasonable prices for new york
Highly recommended
I go here very often and most of the times the staff is very rude. They seem very annoyed and barley help people. I personally hate how they organize their records. A lot of their stuff is overpriced. They do have good records if you like modern artists but their classic rock section isn’t the best and has very basic artists
I was hoping to find a wider selection of used records. For the brand new records, they were a bit more expensive than other record shops I visited.
I liked the Brooklyn location better, but that’s beside the point. Great selection and cool staff. I dig that they sell tapes and CDs too. Definitely dig through the used section, you never know what will turn up.
