This is undoubtedly the best in the city that never sleeps. It’s very close to Times Square and chicken tikka was its best. It’s affordable best food in an expensive area

We really searched for this place because my wife insisted that the reviews were great. The food was great and the kids loved it. The owner was so friendly.

Delicious halal cart food! We were looking for something open Christmas Day and settled on trying Royal grill. We all got the chicken and lamb combo over rice. Both the chicken and lamb pieces were so soft and tender, and the rice and sauces were amazing and flavorful. They have white sauce, red sauce and a green sauce. I didn't try the green sauce but the red and white are good. Good quantity also.

My favorite NYC cart hands down. Food is always fresh and it's always super quick and ready to go. Very different from your typical NYC chicken over rice recipe, the flavors are unique in the best way. Chicken Tikka + Lamb over rice is my favorite here.

The food is delicious. Quantities huge. Note cash is needed for smaller amounts (less than 20$ I think).

Hot sauce is very spicy.

FYI it is more Indian/Bangladeshi style, as opposed to middle eastern style shawarma chicken.

After ordering, you will find out that is not the case and that “Venmo is not working” never heard of Venmo not working, have you?

Saw this food truck reviewed by Here Be Bar (Jon Barr) on his NYC tips YouTube. We simply had to try it in Nov 2022! We came back for more. Great chicken tikka, fabulous spice, sauces are tasty and the food is fresh and filling.

Chicken Tikka and lamba gyro were so good. Plus, the guy running the window was nice. Wish I had discovered this cart earlier in my trip so I could come back.

Good chicken over rice:) I love the chicken as it was moistttt. I have had a better one before so I cannot give it a 5. Wish he put a little more white sauce. Overall?

Easy to find the cart, very friendly. One guy was doing all the prep and cooking the other guy was taking the money. Great work. I had the chicken combo for $10. All cooked in front of me. Quite a large serving and tastes nice. My only mistake was i only had a tiny amount and I mean tiny amount of the hot sauce. Wished I asked for more. Is it worth it? Yes

Great portions and pricing compared to the hundreds of other halal carts in Manhattan. Their combo gyro wrap (chicken & lamb) is only $8 and is HUGE (enough for 2 meals). Their white and hot sauces are tasty, too! Friendly and quick service. They also accept card.

This place lives up to the hype. Best ChickenTikka Over rice in NYC. Ask for their special Mango pickle on the side.

Ordered the combo gyro for brunch. And I was planning to get lamb chicken over rice for later meal but the chef said if I like spicy I shall try the masala tikka over rice.
The portion of the gyro is really great which I think enough to stuff my stomach till late afternoon! Also tried a bite of the masala tikka over rice, the spiciness is very but the chicken is really tender and moist!
I'm not a big fan of chicken breast texture and besides Malaysia, I rarely get halal food when I travel out of Kuwait. But this food truck, makes me think of coming back again during my next New York layover!
PS: just checked with the chef, they opened 1030am till 2am. Instead of 24H.

Best chicken tikka masala since I lived in Southall, NW London. Guy serving was super friendly too. Took it home and ate it an hour after buying. Just as good. Well worth $9

We ordered the lamb over rice and the chicken/lamb over rice combo, and everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
