Saint George Bistro reviews
19 A pleasant bistro on a quiet street with a nice diverse wine selection.
We dined outside and it was one of the best outdoor dining experiences we have had. Each table is on its own platform and the street has barely any traffic so it was a peaceful and relatively private dining experience, you also have a decent view down the hill to the water.
Beef tartare was great and the fries were fantastic. The gnocchi was an interesting and light dish as well that we completely finished.
Despite my assumptions about French dining, (small portions, sauce heavy entrees, escargot) I really enjoyed my experience here. From the appetizers, French onion soup and salads, to the entrees, Steak au Poive, and Coq au Vin, each dish was expertly prepared (probably the first time in years that I ordered a medium rare steak that actually came medium rare), a decent portion, and quite tasty. The wine list is small, but on point, and the Sazerac was perfect. For dessert, the vanilla ice cream served eclair style with dark chocolate was out of this world.
Although the restaurant became busy, we were never rushed, and the service was excellent.
This is a French restaurant?
I found nothing French about this place at all.
I stopped in and ordered a glass of house wine at the bar just to get a feel for the place before considering dining there. The bartender (proprietor maybe?) was barely civil. And $14 for a 6 ounce glass of mediocre wine as an indicator is unacceptable to me even if that is now the going rate so I won't even bother dining there.
Amazing bistro in Westchester. We go here for brunch and dinner often and can’t be happier. It’s located in a nice restaurant strip of Hastings on Hudson with a lot of really good dining options all around but I have to say it’s one of my favorite on the strip.
Perfect and without pretension. My omelet was bright yellow, not a hint of charring on the margins, the parmigiana filling was just the right texture, and the grilled asparagus was sublime. Frequent visitors to Hastings, we had never tried Saint George. Now it will be our go-to “restau”
Great oysters and escargot with endive salad. Not a huge fan of Trout brunch dish on the menu but overall great service.
It was a bit overpriced for a brunch place. The food was okay, the servers were nice and attentive
Yes transported me down memory lane of trips to France. All dishes were prepared and seasoned well, lovely escargot. Fries were very crispy. Mussel curry and steak were friendly and fast service we will be back for more
Beautiful outdoor seating, super fast service & friendly, amazing food! The food here is excellent, I loved every dish we tried & we tried many items.
The oysters though small, we're fresh. The escargot is flavorful, the beef tartar is delicious, the pate is amazing! The diet coke comes in mini bottles which assures it to be nice & bubbly!
Entrees are so good. Mussels are small but the curry broth is amazing. Their French fries are 1 of of best I had! Their steak so tender & cooked perfectly. The gnocchi omg.so good with the creamy mushrooms.
Desserts were not too sweet & very delicious. 1 thing I have to say is the creme Brulee was served in a bowl instead of a ramekin. Kinda odd but overall still yummy.
Definitely coming back again soon. Excellent
They serve some of the best french onion soup I've had here. The asparagus, escargot and roast chicken were also outstanding.
We had Chicken liver mousse, mussels, pomme fraits. Foods are authentic French and outdoor dining is such a bliss!
This restaurant is my favorite site. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant.everytime I want to go to a special meal, this place comes first to my head.exeptionalgorgeous and all sorts of food and a rich menu.generous crew, and pleasant spirit. Also, the charge is affordable. I praise this restaurant with great pleasure.
Great and delicious food, I love the vibes the place has, and the workers were super nice. I will definitely come back in the future.
Saint George Bistro has done a great job with outdoor seating during Covid. They have build several outdoor eating platforms which allow for well spaced dinning experience and the Steak is a great choice for dinner.dress warm!
The food is consistently well prepared and yummy, workers hands out good service. I like how clean it is and atmosphere. Keep up the good work.
Friends recommended me of the restaurant and I was planning to go. Today, my husband and I passed by the neighborhood and my husband, that suffers from migraines needed to get some water to take an advil. Saint George was the closest spot so he entered and asked to buy a bottle of water. The waiter told him they don't sell water so he explained that he just needs to take a pill and will appreciate it if he could just get a glass of water. The waiter refused rudely and avoided any further conversation with him. This restaurant that looks sweet and I was looking forward to go try it lost me as a customer! This is just not a way to behave, a little kindness never hurt no one. By the way, he got a glass of water and a smile from the cafe around the corner.
This spot is good! Fair pricing, big portions and the employees are regularly very friendly.
I meet friends in this restaurant quite a bit! This is the best place to dine. I go there regularly. The food is just great, the staff members are welcoming and the cost is reasonable. I enjoy being in this restaurant over a tasty meal.
This is a very nice place to eat and talk with friend and family while you are enjoying the scenery of the local and the view of the Hudson river.
