Samuel Altstein, DO reviews
13 This place it’s amazing. Very cleaned, very professional the staff it’s very polite. Doctor Samuel explained everything in details. He answered all my questions.
Above and beyond
I have been seeing Dr Altstein for more than 10 years and he is one if the best doctors in NYC.
Dr Altstein is one of those rare doctors that makes every effort to read reports in detail with the patient and helps provide much detailed advice and support. He makes sure that follow up meetings are encouraged so that the health conversation continues year long and not in ‘fits and spurts’ during annual exams. Dr Altstein is kind and approachable. I’m grateful to have him as a PCP for the past few years.
Dr. Altstein is skilled and experienced, caring, and he somehow managed to take the time needed to be thorough in the midst of his busy day. I certainly recommend him.
Dr. Altstein is communicative, personable, and very professional. I trust him and would recommend him.
There is no better doctor. His caution may have saved my life. So lucky to have him as my doctor.
Dr Altstein takes the time to listen, rare in today’s world. I know I’m getting the care I need.
Dr. Altstein has a comfortable and pleasant demeanor and also seems very thorough and professional.
Dr. Altstein is the PCP for my husband and myself. He somehow always remembers us, although we generally see him just once a year for our checkups. He's clearly very intelligent and organized, and he has a playful, but sincere and professional bedside manner. We feel that we are in confident hands every time we see him, and he has been very supportive and attentive in checking in with me about issues that I maintain with my sleep. Grateful in the madness of NYC to have a PCP that takes such good care of us. Scheduling with him also is not impossible - an issue I've had in the past with other Mount Sinai PCPs:)
I have been a patient of Dr. Altstein for the past three years. It is difficult to find a doctor who genuinely cares and follows up with patients, but Dr. Altstein has exceeded expectations. He returns calls immediately, offers invaluable assistance, and always makes himself available.
Always super respectful of my time, in and out in a flash. He is always incredibly knowledgeable and kind
I was 12 minutes late for an appointment and Dr. Altstein: 1) refused to see me, 2) refused to talk to me face-to-face when I told his physician's assistant that I had some urgent medical needs that required tests to be ordered, 3) refused to schedule a "follow up-length" appointment with me and said he would only see me for a full physical a full month from now, and 4) was very curt after I sent him a lengthy email outlining what my medical issue is and why I needed to speak with him (after he wouldn't come out to speak to me in person at his office). It was my fault that I showed up late, but his refusal to at minimum hear me out on my current medical issue and have the decency to speak to me in person rather than making a PA go back and forth from her desk to him as an intermediary.
Dr Alstein is the man. I show up for my apts on time and I get seen on time. They have an online messaging system if I ever have questions so I don't have to physically go in every time, and he always responds quickly. I highly recommend.
