Samuel J Friedman Theatre reviews
14Lovely theater! Comfortable seating with good legroom. Attentive, friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Good sight lines. Bathrooms in the mezzanine! Unfortunately, not much leg space. Get ready for some cramps.
Went to see the play Summer of 1976. Excellent play. We sat the top balconey on side. I do believe there is not a bad seat in the house! Seat very comfortable!
Great venue to see a show. Theatre is fairly small and intimate, very clean, with comfortable seats and plenty of bathroom stalls.
Had the best theatre experience yesterday! The staff was nice and helpful, the theatre is beautiful and the play was exceptional. Actors were a true gem (Laura Linney & Jessica Hecht), I cried and laughed. Thank you!
It was a real pleasure to spend 90 min in 1976! Actresses were great! The play is funny and nostalgic. It puts you in atmosphere of 1970s. Real pleasure!
Home to MTC. Comfortable theatre. Seats provide good site lines and even from rear mezzanine you can see well.
Great theater. Good seats, clean, and pretty. Six was an amazing show, chosen by my 15 year old niece. It was all about empowerment and owning your story.
The show was great as well as most of the staff, but one staff member ruined the experience. You would’ve thought we were military trainees the way she was speaking to us. Not sure if she works for the theatre itself or theatre company, but either way she should not be on a team designed for hospitality. Yelled at an old man for having his mask under his nose and continued shouting at him in front of everyone even though the message was more than clear. Told us she’d kick us out if we pulled down our mask or our phones rang. It was not even stern; just plain rude. She was constantly moving around during the show to spy on everyone and it was very distracting and just unnecessary. This isn’t a dictatorship, it’s a play. She was white, heavyset, has short brown hair with a little streak of blonde and brown eyes. Please replace her, she worked in the upper mezzanine for this specific performance (April 23 @2 pm). I’ve genuinely never met someone more nasty than her.
Great non-profit theatre. I go every season. This year, The Collaboration and Summer, 1976 were brilliant!
Went to see THE COLLABORATION and was pleasantly surprised that the seating was this great! The overall theater experience was wonderful and especially for this particular show. Had a very lovely time at the masseigner show.
A nice, old Broadway theater modernized with an elevator and accessible private bathrooms! The theater, both auditorium and adjacent areas, are designed in a restrained Adamesque style rather than with the often overly ornate decoration of most.
Maybe I was lucky finding my way around but the usual clogged stairways at intermission were not an issue here, nor was climbing up and down unnecessarily.
Outstanding experience! Great views and sound. Friendly helpful staff. Will certainly return! Highly recommend.
The Collaboration was very enjoyable. It took me back in time. Telling the story of these two great artist and their issues they each struggled with.
