Sapphire Nursing at Meadow Hill, Newburgh NY

My mother is a resident at Sapphire. I have found the staff to be very good at meeting her needs, keeping us informed of any issues, and addressing any concerns in a prompt manner. My father is elderly and has some physical disabilities. He visits daily for hours and the staff treats him like gold!

My grandmother's CNA is caring and clean. However, air quality is bad. Need air freshener.

It was a rocky start but staff went out of their way to accommodate the needs of the residents. Dietitian went above and beyond to provide assistance. The Don and Adon put up with angry family members and treated resident total respect. We are beyond happy.

I think the place can use a facelift it looks really bad although the nursing is doing there job problem taking the elevator they walk away knowing they need to badge the elevator for you my wife was content with the whole staff saying she was treated very well the manager should look into making this place more presentable

This is a lie I never gave them 5 stars plus they sign you out and you have to give a star rating if it’s not working staff does this place killed my mother in law

I am giving five stars directly to director of social services Renata Gazzola. She has been exceptional to work with. Always informative and helpful. While my uncle has been at the facility, I have relied on her greatly, and she has been fantastic. Thank you, Renata!

I am also giving five stars directly to Julian Bacchus in the finance department. Julian has helped me every step of the way, answered all questions, and guided me in learning about shepherding the financial resources for my uncle’s care. Thank you, Julian!

Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who was knowledgeable and helpful. The staff are all friendly and the environment was pleasantly welcoming. A nice a place if home is not an option.

They seemed fine when I first visited my father un law. As my wife and I made repeated visits, I saw that it became more of a warehouse where people put old relatives to get them out of the way. The staff I have to say is pretty nice. The money they charge and get from the state is unrealistic anywhere from six to twenty thousand a month per patient. Keep in mind it is a business for profit. Cannot blame them. Just do your due diligence before you put a person in one of these facilities. You may find assisted living facilities at a lower price that does not take away the dignity of an elder person. Remember, one day, you will be a senior. Ask yourself if you would want to spend your life at the location you are communicating your parents too.

I went here with a friend to visit his mother and I was unsure about going as I’ve only had bad experiences inside nursing homes but This was the first time I visited a nursing home that I wasn’t brought to tears. Seriously This place was clean smelled fresh staff was helpful nurses were friendly and it had a very comfortable feel about it. Add that to the residents chatting watching tv and smiling. It was my first time there so after my next visit I will be more confident this is the normal but I’m pretty sure it is and I’m pleasantly surprised and relieved by it.

I had a great time.i was happy see my co-worker. He was in great spirits thx to the doctors and staff.

Worked here for a few days and thats all I could take. The kitchen is drama filled and unprofessional. They put no love into the food. I only saw maybe one person in the kitchen who actually made food with care. They leave food out sitting for too long and reuse the food for the the next days to come. The kitchen is lacking tools like sharp knives, and rags are scarce. I was lucky to find a new rag to wipe down my station. The residents deserve better.

I need to share this. My mom resides there. The thing is the Staff Really needs to STEP UP THEIR CARE! SHE'S ON THIS OPTUM PLAN. But it's Not good. I'm going to Disenroll her it's NO USE. I ASKED A MILLION TIMES FOR HER TO CALL. ME. BUT WHAT GOOD IS THE STAFF IF THEY DON'T DO This!

I have been impressed with each staff member I have had the pleasure to interact with. My friend who is at Sapphire to recover from a recent illness had a very difficult first week with confusion and resultant unpleasant behaviors. Everyone has treated her (and me) with dignity and respect and with utmost regard for her safety. All my questions and concerns have been addressed and the path forward is clear. Even though my friend is anxious when my visit is over, I leave knowing that she is in good hands and she is getting the care she needs and deserves.
