Sarge’s Delicatessen & Diner reviews
16Truly atrocious given how they treated UA Eats. Thinly sliced pastrami just to cover up the bad quality meats. Sad.
The food was great! Coleslaw was AMAZE-BALLS! Sandwich was really good and the mushroom barley soup was excellent!
After looking online and researching Sarge’s seamed the best place to go & try the pastrami & corn beef sandwich, good sandwich which worth the trip. However the staff are just so rude and indifferent! Shame as it put a downer on our experience.
The best! Old fashioned Jewish style deli! Huge sandwiches. Comes with pickles and cole slaw. For me, at least two days to eat this. Also main courses and soups and … all your deli dreams come true. My husband loves the roast beef. Beware- very rare. The waitress will tell you! I eat the turkey sandwich and, yes, you can ask for dark me if you prefer!
The Hot Pastrami was amazing. So flavorful and it practically melts in your mouth. The service was not great. Order was not completely accurate and after we received our food we were essentially ignored. Don't let that stop you from going. The food is so good.
Jewish deli with delicious soup and tasty pastrami sandwiches. This place can get busy at lunch but worth the wait, we went later for a late lunch and got seated quickly. All the deli favorites including matzah ball soup and pastrami sandwiches.
Good food and a decent alternative to the hustle and bustle to Katz's. Smaller and table service. They have a sandwich challenge you can partake in.
From sandwiches to Cheesecake, Sarge's specialties are as much on the plate as in the room. An essential monument of New York cuisine since 1964, its Hall of Fame is as well stocked as its Pastrami and Corned beef sandwiches.
Good pastrami sandwich, excellent value for money. Efficient service but could improve customer friendliness.
Great food and staff. Very authentic vibe, we had Reuben and Chicken Parmesan. Everything was very tasty and the portions were big. Definitely recommend!
Efficient and smiling service in an authentic setting and specialties of pastrami sandwiches, corned beef coleslaw and pickles.
While the food was ok, the practice of adding an automatic 18% gratuity without informing the guest is just wrong. Unfortunately, we didn’t notice until after and added a 20% gratuity as well. $82.00 + tip for two sandwiches and two coffee is high even for New York City. Our server was not exactly friendly and never came by to refill our water glasses or our coffee so a 38% tip was a little steep. Will not be back or recommend.
Sargies is New York for us. We visit every time we are in New York and it never fails. Because of Covid, we hadn’t visited for the last four years. However, everything was as good as we remember. The Pastrami sandwich is exceptional and there’s something unique about the atmosphere. The service is quick and friendly. It’s just a really great place.
It's expensive, but also fantastic, with very large portions. Never disappoints. Today was a corned beef sandwich and sweet potato fries combo. Perfect!
The dishes were okay, but considering the price - could’ve been better. Good service and real deli vibe.
What a classic New York experience. The giant pastrami & corned beef sandwiches were fantastic, as was the "Robin" (grilled open pastrami, swiss cheese and sauerkraut sandwich). Great burgers too, and the crinkle cut skin-on fries are super. Complimentary homemade coleslaw and pickles are so good. We also shared a slice of pound cake which was delicious.
