Schweiger Dermatology Group - SoHo reviews
18I saw Dr. Lin in the Soho office and she was wonderful. She quickly diagnosed a skin rash and gave me sound advice for follow up. The staff was also great and the appointment was on time and swift.
The front desk staff, Dr. Lin, and Sean are simply amazing! They are friendly, professional, and efficient. I am always seen immediately upon check in and it is so easy to schedule an appointment. I recommend Schweiger to anyone.
Everyone was so kind and patient with me even while I was feeling out the paperwork. And even though it was taking me a bit longer, That did not stop my appointment time. They were incredibly thorough. I appreciated the nurse practitioner taking the time to listen to why I was there instead of turning their back and writing it into a computer. I got the sense that everybody wanted to be there and appreciated their job. Environment was incredibly clean and I would recommend it to anyone. Dr. Kin is probably one of the nicest doctors I've ever had in New York.
Friendly and helpful staff and our provider is always patient and answers all our questions. Welcoming safe environment.
This is a hard review to write as I genuinely like my practitioner and the staff, but am frustrated with the billing/charging in relation to service actually provided. I understand a business needs to make money and am not expecting free service, but after co-pay and insurance, this latest patient bill seems egregious.
I was made to come in for a refill prescription (after requesting through portal but was told I had to be seen.), arrived for my appointment on time, brought into an exam room, and then had to wait over 30 mins. After a few questions, my prescription was confirmed. No other services rendered or requested. Didn’t have a freckle checked, nada. This was maybe 5 mins total time together.
So imagine my surprise when I received a bill for $127 for what boils down to a prescription refill. The duration of the delay in providing service should not be passed onto the patient (especially since I was early/on time for my visit). And per the review from Cara Warner, if this is ‘industry standard for charting’ it seems a bit much for a returning patient with no major changes.
I did call to ask for someone to speak with me about my bill and instead got a canned response via email “This balance has been confirmed valid and remains due. Please contact us to discuss your payment options. " I have paid it since trying to get someone on the line is a feat itself. I guess this is just what we should expect from our healthcare providers, to be squeezed for every cent.
This is a great practice! Very professional but also warm. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Lin is a great doctor. She was efficient, thorough, knowledgeable, and made me feel at ease. I highly recommend this dermatology group.
Schweiger Dermatology is wonderful, I highly recommend them. All the doctors are very speedy but thorough and helpful. I have been using them for several years, it's been a great experience each time.
Dr Gloria Lin is the best health care professional that I visit regardless of the medicine my other doctors practice - she definitely is Numero Uno. Wait time is minimal at best, her waiting area always provides bottled water and candy (it's not a dentist office lol) and readily has
free travel size skincare products available. Aside from her waiting area adorned with reading material for any wait time, her office is very inviting with a swanky decor. Her assistants are very knowledgeable and very, very polite. Each of my 4 or so visits in the past year are great experiences and my irritant dermatitis and tinea versicolor has healed nicely given the improvement through the use of her prescriptions. I highly, highly recommend her especially if you need an early as 720am appointment, like myself, before work. Even after 5pm she is there for me. Look her up on ZOCDOC as I did and book her as your dermatologist! Thank You Gloria you rock!
Absolutely helpful and even gave advice on how to get a referral easily after my PCP wouldn’t via urgent care and took care of everything I needed handled, fast efficient and kind folks who have the patients best interest in mind. Even though I paid out of pocket with no insurance coverage it was well beyond worth every penny
Front desk was so helpful and nice! One of the best experiences I’ve had. Monica was also super responsive and fast! Would return again!
I was seen in a timely manner. The physician and support staff were very helpful, answered all of my questions, and overall I was very satisfied with my visit.
My first visit with Dr. Lin and her assistant Shawn was fantastic! I’ve been struggling since the spring of 2022 to find a great dermatologist and now I am proud to say that I have!:) The diagnosis and treatment was explained to me very carefully. And now I’m really looking forward to the positive changes that are forthcoming to my skin. Five stars!:)
Loved the way that they cared for my dad at his appointment and just over all the place was very welcoming
Everyone I interacted with at the practice was lovely but my appointment was rushed and the bill was a shock. I saw the dermatologist for no more than 10 minutes and received an invoice for a quote "45-59 MIN" new patient appointment. Even if you count the time I spent in the waiting room, I wasn't there for 45 minutes. Short wait and nice folks, but $325 for 10 minutes is painful.
Update: the practice has informed me I was billed for "time spent on charting" and that "this is industry standard. " In other words I was charged $325 for 10 minutes with the doctor 35-50 minutes some unspecified person spent filling out charts and paperwork. Today I learned this is "industry standard. " Now, dear reader, you know too.
Made an appointment with Dr. Gloria Lin and rushed the appointment, talked to her for less than 10 min and got billed for 45-90 min session $325. Can't reach the billing office as their line is always busy. Not sure where to contact the office.
Dr. Lin was kind and professional. I've never had a bad experience with a dermatologist, and Dr. Lin is definitely one of my favorites.
After seeing great reviews, went for Botox of the masseuters because I grind my teeth. They charged $550 and it had no effect at all. They provided a full refund after I discussed the customer service team. So changed rating to three stars.
Hard to find a good dr in manhattan - been twice, never had a wait and doctors are all nice. Definitely recommend
