Very friendly people and service. The food, not so great. It's nice that it was gluten free but the burger was way overcooked. The breading on the fried items was not very flavorful.

Great food.gluten free options are FANTASTIC! We were there on a Thursday and the live band was entertaining. Great spot for a simple family meal - followed by ice cream after! We will definitely return!

This place has potential. My fries were not the greatest as you can see in the picture. They reminded me of Sysco frozen fries. The restaurant can increase revenue by hand cut fresh fries and this would taste better and bring a more special touch to customers experience. Also the oil in deep fryer needed to be changed. You could taste the over used oil, wasn't pleasant.

This is a perfect place to grab a bite to eat after enjoying Emerson Park. The staff is friendly and helpful. Speedy customer service makes the line move quickly. There are plenty of picnic tables under the shade trees, or one can sit inside in the tastefully decorated dining room.

Zero customer service! If it is "place your order at the register", one would think you would have a sign or have one of two waitstaff that was standing around to advise of such! Not at all the Green Shutters I remember.sad

The chicken sandwiches and tenders are great. Their buffalo sauce has a lot of flavor without being very spicy. And their signature is the onion rings, which are made in-house.

TLDR; top notch service, great food, will be back again to try more.

UPDATE JULY 2022: Came here w/ fam on the weekend. Chicken again and had the burger (would not recommend over the burgers). Had ice cream too, but one order was wrong (thought the extra bits expected were buried, so ate a little) and all orders were just too much (expecting 1 scoop, got three). Have to take a star off for 'meh' experience this time. /end

Writing from a Friday night in June, 2020. Ordered online the two chicken sandwiches (grilled, fried), chicken tenders w/ house sauce, the Hofmann dog, and two orders of onion rings.

Arrived for curbside pickup at the future scheduled time for pickup (later than the online suggested time). Called in, was answered quickly, and told the order would be out.

Waited 23 minutes - watched New York's clouds and the many people coming by (was a busy Friday night). The owner came out with the order, apologized for the wait, and asked how long I waited, what I did for my order, etc and assured me of action to iron out the online system (online times do not consider foot-traffic).

As an afterthought, the owner invited me into the diner. There, he gave me two ice creams with chocolate drizzle, free of charge (needless to say, I was touched).

The chicken was very large and quite juicy - some of the best fried chicken I've had (not greasy; might be from the gluten-free batter). The onion rings were also almost sweet, the house dipping sauce a very good match for it. The only 'meh' portion of the meal (the ice cream was tasty) happened to be the Hofmann dog. It was good as a hot dog, but it was a hot dog in a soft bun (about it) - would try the Coney dog instead.

Next time, will stop in for a shake, some of the hard ice cream, and both the Coney dog and burgers, though getting the chicken is a very viable option! Will be back - thanks to the owner's hospitality, quality of food, and price of product.

Quintessential summer ice cream and American food joint. The only deterrent is the amount of plastic they use. Would’ve been nice to not get served in plastic bags.

The place is adorable with a cute outdoor seating area, and the Staff is super friendly. We ordered delicious ice cream and a tasty hotdog. When ordering food for dining in, I definitely don’t think the food should come in plastic bags. It would have been a better experience to use bottles of condiments instead of tons of tiny plastic packets. Just so much trash generated for a $1.99 hotdog when we weren’t having take-out.

We love Sebs. Always super busy but there seems to be a parking spot every visit, which is often. Their ice cream is very rich, more cream than ice. Service is fast & friendly. We love their huge sundaes, huge shakes and their double cheeseburger is fresh tasting & very delicious. Great value in today's economy & they are open till 9pm! YUM

I am removing my earlier review from 2019, as Green Shutters is now Seb's Green Shutters and is totally under new management. Green Shutters has been through a few owners and mangers the past 5 years or so, and finally someone has bought it that wants to run it well.

All my recent experiences at Seb's Green shutters have been good. The menu is not extensive (Think burgers dogs and fries) but good, and the ice cream is great. With COVID tossing a big ol wrench in all their plans, they still seem to have done well.

Here's hoping that as we return to some kind of normal Seb's keeps it up with quality, and can maybe expand the menu a little next year.
