19I am not crazy about the location on 86 street It's too small and cluttered. Also, I am asthmatic when I walk in the scents are overpowering.
Went to ask about returning a product, the checkout lady said she would check to see if we would get our points back along with what we spent. Otherwise, we would do an in-store exchange. Instead, she processed the return without telling us and we lost our points! We spoke to manager who said there was nothing she could do, so the incompetence of this employee directly cost us losing our money for no reason at all! We asked for store credit or an exchange or a gift card and all she could do was give us the customer service number to call.completely useless manager with incompetent employees! Be careful what they tell you in the store, they clearly don't always know what they're talking about!
ADDENDUM: After an hour of arguing with a customer service rep and then her manager, we were finally refunded our points. Shoutout to Elise at Sephora Customer Service for helping to rectify the mistakes of the store employees.
Not the best location, but Zoe is the best and very knowledgeable! Skincare and cosmetics!
On this day January 2,2023 I walked in the Sephora make up place at 86st in Manhattan it was 2pm and there was a young lady at the front and she did not ask me can she help me.
I approached her and asked her if she had a brand that I was looking for and she said Let may find someone that can help you so she spoke on her Radio I guess it took about a minute maybe less and she came back with no one can help me rite now.it was not too busy at the time so she pointed with her finger to where the makeup brand that I was looking for might be.
She should’ve help me find the lipstick Color that I was looking for not allow me to go on my own
she was NOT very helpful. Unfortunately I did not get her name but she is a very light skinned young woman with make up on also dressed in black with long black hair. Staff needs to be retrained. Much friendlier
I was not comfortable while talking to her.

Today I stopped in Sephora on 86th St and Lexington. I was looking for a product someone recommend ito me by Fenty beauty. Given that I was going to buy a new item I had questions However my experience was horrible No one greeted me and asked if I need help at all I was I the store for a good 15mins and had no help but what did happen was that the staff had all eyes on as if I was not welcome or was going to steat something. One staff male did come a say hello to put an item back on the shelf where I was testing products never asked to see if I needed assistance.
Needed to say I did not buy the item I can for due to the unwelcome experiene I had. This reminded me why I shop online and Amazon. I will never shop at this store or any sephora again. I never been in a store that have mad me feel I welcomed I don't know if it was because I was a man or what but wow.
I went to redeem a birthday gift and the cashier had an attitude. She insinuated that I was lying about my birthday and it all felt very disrespectful. Very poor service
Absolutely loved it. I went in to find my foundation, skin tone and concelor colors from fenty beauty and the workers who worked with us were great. One of my friends and i worked with shay (hope I spelled this right) and my other friend worked with brenda. Not only did she take her time expalining how everything works (to me and my friend who never wear makeup) but she also showed us how putting on foundation works and explained what I would do if I were to do half facepaint and half makeup and how to tell if its good.
So bummed that they don't do the complementary make-overs with the purchase of make-up anymore. Now you have to pay a set price for make-overs and purchase the make-up products. Some of the products I use, Sephora doesn't carry anymore. But overall, I still love Sephora.
Zoey was amazing! I came in to do 90 minute makeup session for my photoshoot and she was already preparers before I came in. I had mentioned I wanted a Smokey look but natural and she made sure to do so! So very talented I wish her much success! This was the makeup after the shoot!
I always go to this Sephora and everyone is extremely helpful I was helped by David and he did a good job explaining everything and recommended makeup for my costume that turned out sooo good and I have him to thank for that! Thank you so so much
Was looking for somewhere close by that carried La Mer sunscreen while on vacation in NY staying on the Upper East side. Google'd and found this was in walking distance. Sales associates were attentive and were more than willing to help me find and show me exactly what I was looking for was in the store. This location has a good selection of products and wasn't extremely busy. I came in on a mission, but with the great selection this location has, it is definitely some place where you can wonder around and find more than enough things to make you spend more than what you came in looking for.
Staff is super friendly and helpful. Products are easy to find and the line is usually pretty quick. My only complaint was the heat. The store was hot and I felt bad for the staff but they still greeted u with a smile.
Terrible customer service manager did not compiled nor gave me a refund when i had the receipt and product.
I’d rather order online then to visit this location. It’s always packed and/or never enough employees to help you so you end up standing around and waiting or chasing someone down until you find help. Not worth it. Just order online.
Once you enter the store the staff is pleasant and welcoming.
The manager was very helpful, I had my eyebrows and waxing done by Jasmyn.
She was nice, she engaged me in whatever she was doing. I definitely have plans to revisit. There's another young lady that helped me to choose my foundation who was knowledgeable, but I forgot her name.

It's not the biggest Sephora store but that's perfect when you are looking for a specific item. Associates are very helpful and friendly. It's becoming my go to Sephora store.

They have everything you could want in skincare, haircare, and makeup.
As usual. "in store" online, sold out in person (on the same day). I'm over this place.
