For over 50 years my family had a a bi-yearly tradition when extended family came into NYC to us. We would all go to Serendipity and most of us would always get the the Chicken Almondine Casserole and for dessert always, always the Chocolate Pecan Pie and of course the Frozen Hot Chocolate. The last time we all met there (sadly many of our family were deceased) only to discover both the Chicken dish AND the chocolate pecan pie were no longer on the menu. We vowed to never return and then ironically you were shut down by, I think the health department. All too sad. I hope when you reopen you put our 2 favorites back on the menu. If not maybe you could find it your hearts to share the Chicken Almondine recipe with us. Thank you Elyse Saber Goldstein
Really super fun! Definitely great for a girls afternoon and just taking cute photos.they have great seasonal options.we got the hot chocolate (of course) and two sandwiches.we waited a long time to sit down and it was a little too expensive for my liking, but i think thats just NYC
LOVE LOVE LOVE. My friend & I visited in Feb. 2020, right before the Covid apocalypse: (The frozen hot chocolate that mesmerizes in movies is the real deal - it’s simply heavenly & divine! I’m not even a sweets or desserts person & I could’ve downed 2 of these frozen wonders. The place exudes charm & architectural character.especially upstairs where you’ll see like the original honeycomb floor tile, a fireplace, beautiful ceilings with classic moulding & fun sherbet colors, funky chandeliers. I love that they left these beautiful details intact & didn’t remodel away all the charm. And if you’re lucky you can sit at the famous Serendipity movie table in front of the fireplace. (We were close, only 1 table away!) Yes we had to wait a bit crammed like sardines in the narrow entry area but it was worth it. And they moved people through quick on the day of our visit. Seemed like an efficient operation. Hopefully this iconic establishment can reopen in the very near future!
Love this place. Got taken here for my birthday before the pandemic and did not expect to love it as much as i do. Space is relatively small and has a lot of decorations and interesting pieces to look at while you wait for your food. You without have to try a dessert or their hot chocolate with your order!
My expectations were too high, my experience was a disappointment.
The temperature of the food was cold.not even the soup was hot. The food was okay, nothing to brag about. The bathroom is the biggest issue; no soap, small, smelly, wet floors, and the sink had blockage.
I know this place from serendipity the movie of course. But thank god there was no queue at all when we got the place. The cafe is in the second floor. We ordered two frozen hot chocolates and sundae and couldn’t finished. I think it’s better to share their famous signature drink because it’s huge.
Good and crowded place to have something to eat or drink, we just had a dessert called frozen chocolate, but we were full and I didn’t enjoy it as it deserved, I would go back there just to try it again beside a meal.
We ordered chicken and waffles, and the summer bries sandwich. It was pretty mediocre for the price. I was kinda sad about it. The best thing was the champagne milkshake.
What a fun place! My girlfriend, Alisa and I had a great time! The frozen hot chocolate was the bomb!
The place is amazing! But the deserts are average for the price! I ordered Hot chocolate and it wasnt something out of the blue though
Went here for a quick bite as the other half loves the film. Amazing desserts! Very nice place to eat. Would recommend
I tried their peanut butter pie and chocolate ice cream and it was the best damn dessert I've ever had in my life. I forgot what it was called. I went later in the day expecting to get food, but their kitchen closed before they stop serving desserts so make sure you go at the right time.
Kind of small but its cozy. Has 2 floors. Fast service. Not accessible for wheelchairs. Dim lighting. Good deserts. I havent tried the other meals aside from potato skins and nachos.
This restaurant has a unique setting, like there was no intention of matching anything but it all flows. The food was Great!
Horrible service horrible food.very bland and had hair in it.only good experience was the manager who was nice
Cool decor and food was very good. The wait was pretty long so I would definitely recommend reservations.
We waited an hour and a half for a table only to find out that our table was reserved. Very disappointed.
Server didn't give good advice. My friends and I ordered each of us a dessert and we couldn't finish because they are too big portion + sweet and too much cream. Recommend sharing the desserts.
Did I mention half of the dessert is whipped cream and it is like paying $10 for a big bowl of cream. We thought frozen hot chocolate is hot drink. It is not, and it is top with loooooot of whipped cream.
