Shaking Crab (Upper West Side), New York NY

My daughter came once in early spring, the restaurant it’s safe has a calm chill setting to its vibe. Did I tell you about the food, we safe & ate. The food was so delicious & satisfying. The drinks were even better. I’ll definitely do it again.

Good standby for spicy seafood. You have to be in the mood to eat with your hands. The shaking crab original sauce is the way to go. We got it in medium (2 out of 4) and there was a decent amount of spicy heat. The Louisiana sauce is too vinegary. The fried pickles were in a light batter but cut thin; I prefer when they are thicker cut. We had the headless shrimp (full), crawfish (half), snow crab clusters, (half) and clams (full). Everything was fresh. And this was enough for 3 diners. Today the sauce had too much grease, unlike the other 4-5 times.

My husband and I ordered food from this restaurant. All was good until my husband found a piece of what seem to be synthetic braiding hair wrapped and fried into his chicken wig. The sight of it made me feel sickened instantly. After taking pictures and filing a complaint with Ubereats, we discard all of our food. This occurrence has made us realize the true level of cleanliness at the restaurant and we have decided not to patronize it in the future.

I'm allergic to the but me and my wife love to go on date night and they have really great wings.

Food and Service was awesome. Want a good seafood boil, you must go. Excellent!

Vibe was super nice. The food was on point, fresh, delicious seafood boil. Tasty sauce options. Great service. A pleasant surprise for a "chain" restaurant. We were impressed and will go back often!

Service was a bit slow BUT everything was still great. Had one fisherman's punch and was drunk. That was strong. I been to other locations more but the shaking sauce here was to die for omg. It's never been that good. I think this is my favorite location now.

The food is top notch. Customer service could be better. Was told upon arrival it would take 25 minutes for a table. It turned out to be more time than that. There was a table being used by a worker's son and man who were just sitting there waiting for her. Took our order to go.

The seafood just taste old but its very seasoned and the service was great and the alcoholic beverages were the right amount of strong. If im in the area I will go back for drinks and fries.

They seasoning is good
The prices are fair
The some of the sea food just doesn't taste fresh.
Everything in the seafood boil bag tasted like it was re heated
The fried shrimp and fries was pretty good
Garlic noodles was dry
The server was nice
If I'm in the area I would go back for fries and maybe a drink because they were pretty strong
The place was empty so if you have a large group its nice

Nice place but not for a party over 4 it's gonna be a crazy wait time other than that the food was great

Ordered the crab/shrimp combo, spicy just like it should be, we arrived 5 mins late but still able to grab our order

Delicious sea food, great staff, a bit pricey, make sure to make reservations on a weekend. Especially, on a long weekend.

One of my favorite seafood places in the city I usually get the cajan sauce on my crabs &* the chili for my crawfish. My only suggestion… bring back the shrimp tacos They were SO GOOD!

Awesome experience here. Got 1 lb crawfish and 1/2 dungeness crab with corn and sausage. I got gulf seasoning, medium hot, and a Henny punch to drink. Shellfish tasted fresh and healthy. I actually wish I had gotten double corn it was so good! Sausage was high quality, but in large chunks that are hard to eat with your hands. Seasoning was salty (made worse by the sausage) but honestly VERY tasty. Medium spicy was the right choice for me, ordered on waitress's recommendation - it was just hot enough to feel a bit of heat, but not enough to overpower other flavors or hurt. Henny punch was great - a sweet and strong fruity drink, went really well with the rest of the meal. Playlist was awesome all night as well! Overall a fantastic meal well worth the $$.
