Mediterranean Restaurant Shalel reviews
14Wow - Shalel transports you to a wine cellar in the Mediterranean. The food, service and atmosphere are spectacular.
I absolutely adore this place! It's my first time back since the pandemic, and it's just as wonderful as I remembered. The staff is great and very accommodating and there are many great options for meditation cuisine on the menu. The food is exquisite, and the ambiance is charming and cozy. It's a perfect spot for a lovely date night.
Shalel was fantastic! Everything about this place is a 10/10. The ambiance was so cozy and romantic. Food was delicious and the service was great. I will be back and would recommend it!
My friends and I went to dinner for a birthday. The food and drinks were excellent and our server was wonderful. We are already planning our next visit.
Delicious menu. Very calm and chill. Best hummus I've had anywhere. Great service. We loved that we had our own little corner and didn't have to block out any diners' conversations around us.
Simply terrible place -Hole in the basement!
Food is mediocre, over salted, old and reheated. Service unprofessional- they do not change silverware between courses.
Decor simply horrible - bare bone rock walls in the basement, chipped table surface, fabrics curtains between tables,
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOLE IN THE BASEMENT!
Been here 3 times and only have positive things to say. The ambiance is very calming and romantic, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. Highly recommend for your next date night.
Shady business. They refused to give us a table for being 20 min late for our reservation, but kept the $40 deposit.
I just LOVED this place! What a dreamy atmosphere! Eating by candle lit. The food is really good. Everything tastes fresh. The cocktails are intriguing. Everything was reasonably priced and very good. We ate at the pantry table and I have to say, I loved it. It was like we had our own private room. It is a very intimate setting so great for special occasions.
One of my favorite dining experiences since moving to New York. The décor and ambience are unique and lovely: you feel like you've been invited into a secret place that no one else knows about. Service was a bit slow (as others have noted), but friendly, and the food was outstanding.
Nothing but love for this restaurant. In a sea of basic suburban feeling UWS restaurants, this place is a trrruuee gem. I’ve always made a reservation and have been treated like a. I hope to become a regular.
Lamb Cigars by far the star of the show! The pita is warm and fresh. Definitely check this spot out.
This is a hidden gem for sure. Not many people seem to notice the restaurant because it’s underground, but this place is worth going to. The entrance doesn’t even look like an entrance, but once you are inside, you immediately feel transported to the Middle East.
Food was well delivered, very flavorful and a great selection of menu options. Ambience is very unique. Feels like you’re in an underground cellar. Service was also great. Very welcoming staff.
