Poor food quality. Cutting corners in food material and preparation. A lot of Chinese people could tell the difference with their taste buds and compare with elsewhere Chinese restaurant dining. For example the jellyfish appetizer dish they mix in a lot of radish. More than half of the dish is radish. Elsewhere the dish should be mostly jellyfish. The fish slices I could tell the fish is not fresh and there is faint stench of refreezered fish that has been stored for a long period of time (not even days, more likely weeks) before it was brought to the dining table. The white chicken appetizer is the same deal, the meat does not taste fresh, unlike in many other Chinese restaurants. These were not freshly prepared but have been stored for long period of time and some just re-microwaved back in the kitchen. The Chinese people could tell because we have more experienced and sensitive taste buds. Because of the Bayside convenient location I still occasionally take my kids there but more and more become disappointed each time we go and eventually just make up my mind to stop going there. For good quality food and value price you have to make the journey to downtown Flushing or Elmhurst. Don't try to save a few pennies on gas or subway fare.

This review is for their bayside location. We have been to all their locations, this one is the worst. Neither the food nor the service met our expectations. We ordered seafood pan fry noodles and it was like noodle soup. The watercress dumplings were bitter. The free soup dumplings were lousy. The only dish I was happy with was the shrimp dumplings. The shrimp was large and fresh. We were the first customers came to store on rainy Sunday at 9am.we asked if we could sit at the booth and was refused their excuse was it gonna be busy later. When we left at 10am, more than half of the restaurant was still empty. I didn’t understand why the waiter had to be difficult. We were going to order more food to go but their attitude really turned us off. We won’t come back for sure.

Shanghai-style cuisine, various dishes choices, reasonable price, love the free bun with Peking roast duck for each guest when you order $10+. One of my family favorite restaurant.

We came here for our date night 12/2/2023. We love the food here and have been a repeat customer since they opened just a couple years ago. Its a saturday night, we arrive at 9 they close at 10. We dont even make the waiter wait we knew what we wanted immediately. The waiter who was in such a hurry brought us the check before bringing us all our food. As were enjoying our dinner at the table, before we finished eating we were rushed to pay the bill. The restaurant closes at 10. Its not even 930. I understand the kitchen closes before the restaurant does but receiving the check before you are finished eating and being told to pay for the food before finishing your food is even worse. Not to mention after we put the money in the black envelope, the same waiter comes back asking us if we want to pack up our food. When asked why we are being rushed the waiter has an attitude as if were ruining his saturday night. Poor restaurant etiquette. The owner should be ashamed of such poor service. He even came after and said we could stay as long as we liked. The damage was already done.

A. Real nice Chinese Shanghai style restaurant. It serves many of the familiar Shanghai style dishes, such as xiaolongbao, etc. But, it also serves many of the western familiar dishes such as Beijing duck and fried rice. Overall, this restaurant serves real authentic tastes and dishes.

We live nearby and are regulars at this restaurant. Usually, my husband handles the bill, so I hadn't paid much attention until today. To my surprise, I discovered they calculate the tip based on the after-tax total. Despite ordering just a bowl of noodles and a dish, we received minimal service—no inquiries during the meal.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed the discrepancy and left a tip based on the pre-tax amount when signing the check. To my dismay, during the payment, the server abruptly insisted on a tip exceeding $7 and clarified it didn't include the tax we had paid. Politely, I explained that I prefer tipping on the pre-tax total, and the server insisted that all restaurants calculate tips this way (after tax), and it's only one dollar difference from what we paid in tips.

This experience was disappointing. We didn't feel valued as customers and won't be considering dining here again.

You can still pay with credit cards by ordering the food from the 3rd party platform, such as Uber eats. However, I ordered a whole Peking Duck, and received Peking QUAIL. The dish size is so tiny. I am very disappointed.

I love the food here.some of our favs that we always order are soup dumplings, Peking duck, sautéed snow peas leaves, and scallion pancakes.

We've been here countless times, and the food gets high praise. It is both authentic and delicious.
The portions seem to have slimmed, however. The Peking Duck slices appeared to be very small, and few, as we had buns left over with no duck. It's very tasty, however.
The service is attentive and food comes out fast. I recommend you keep a menu and order only 2 dishes at a time. Whenever we order several dishes, they will bring them all out at once, in royal fashion, and struggle awkwardly to fit them all into our little table. If you're at a large table with one of those spinning center pieces, this is not an issue. This tip applies to most Chinese restaurants here in Flushing. They aim for quick service, sometimes foregoing the comfort of such.

Why are napkins so hard to attain? I know it's another expense in business, but it's sometimes necessary for extra when dining on certain dishes.

I'm sorry to say this, but You Garden needs to step up their game in cleanliness. The tea pots and those condiment jars that remain on the table all had sauce or drippings on them. Those plexi-glass dividers were splattered all over with something which I hope was a sauce explosion and not something else.

It may sound like I don't recommend You Garden but that is not the case. I've been a fan since before they arrived to Bayside, often frequenting their other restaurant off MaIn Street, in downtown Flushing. I am hoping the management finds this and looks to improve upon what is already a great restaurant. If they address the cleanliness issues and stop pinching pennies, they could very well be crowned one of the best Chinese restaurants in all of Queens.

I was there on a Saturday afternoon after 2pm when lunch starts slowing down. When we asked to sit at the booth we were told since we only had two people and cannot sit there. Later we were arranged in a half table, which it barely fit dishes we have ordered. I have made the decision not to order more. I was planning to order more dishes but due to this arrangement I have decided not to. I wish in the future they will adjust the way how they run their business, discouraging customers to order more is not a way.

This is the first time I heard that I need more shredded ginger! There is an additional charge! Bad, bad, bad!

Always good. Mix of authentic and "Americanized" Chinese food. Soup dumplings are excellent. Service is prompt and professional. Cash, Venmo or Zelle only, leave the Amex at home.

I once ordered a mooncake at their Bayside location restaurant, and I witnessed a lady using her HAND to grab the mooncake instead of a fork. This was so disgusting, and I told her to stop and use a fork to grab the mooncake. I will never go to this place again. You should train your staff and prioritize food safety. Using your hand to grab the mooncake for takeout is UNACCEPTABLE!

I ordered 2 of the sweet hot tofu to go. I get home and this is what I got. I’m so mad. What a waste of money. Their other items are pretty good. They dropped the ball on this one.

Hands down the best soup dumplings in the area. The scallion pancakes are also out of this world and every time we must order the cucumber salad. Best bang for your back and always a great service!

If you like Shanghai style dim sum and snacks, this is one of the best restaurants around Queens for those. You don't need to travel to China for the closely authentic food. We loved the tiaotou cake, soup dumplings (original flavor is the best), crab meat soup dumplings, three-yellow sanhuang Chicken, Peking Duck, fried Bao (shengjian Bao), and scallion pancake. The food here is one-notch down from the You Garden in Flushing (40th St near Main St.) Service is pretty good as the 40th location. But easier parking and more spacious and newer cleaner dining area at Bell Blvd made up for the downsides. They only take cash, Venmo or Zelle.
