Shawnee Golf Course, Sanborn NY

Was a fun little course. I’ve given a lot of business over the years as I live close. However they implemented a ridiculous new rule of no carts after 4 PM. Doesn’t get dark until 8: 30-9. What a slap in the face to people who work for a living.

Well… I’ll start by saying by the third hole I wanted go home. My buddy and I started laughing it was so bad. The area had a lot of rain the day before yet the course let carts go out. The photo I’m posting wasn’t even close to how bad it was. Now, if the course was dry it might be ok. Some challenging holes for sure. But the fairways weren’t cut either. And it’s not because of rain. I suspect they are selling the property and really don’t care and don’t want to spend any more money on maintenance. Finds different course, even if you just want to hack some balls around with friends who hardly play golf ever.

Fun 9 hole course. Course plays firm and greens are small, long grass and firm so adjust accordingly. 3 doglegs are fun if you can hit it high and far enough. Easy walking and carts are available. Definitely a more laid back course appropriate for any and all golfers.

Nice little 9 hole course. If you are starting out it is peaceful and pretty much wide open so you can grow your game. Even if your game is off you can go into the bar after and have a drink and think about it

Who ever says this course is well kept is either high as a kite or has never played golf before, here’s your warning to go somewhere else.

What a shame - this used to be a fun course. It looks like they haven't done any course maintenance at all this year. Good portion of the fairways are gone on many holes. Worst greens I've ever played on. The restaurant facilities are very nice though. Must be where they are spending all the money.

Greens are the size of a nickel and are the sloped front to back on everyone. Fairway grass is taller than my 10 month old baby. Actually the fairway doesn’t exist everything is rough.

What a difference dry weather can make! Kudos to the crew responsible for getting the course from a winter field too well manicured fairways and greens! This course is a hidden gem in Niagara county and well worth the trip. All the employees are extremely friendly and helpful!

Love this course. It is a longer than some. Some moderately difficult water areas. Greens are well cut with moderate difficulty. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tee times required so call first. Beautiful location. Veteran discounts too. Still enjoy playing here with my husband and adult son. Just went today. We were pleased. Like the new online reservation system. Had to cancel our game last Monday and it returned the credit charge. Good to see it works.

I have played this course since the the 1960s I played high school golf here this was the home course for Niagara Wheatfield the work they are doing after the fire is amazing it's better than ever keep up the good work!
