Shear Ego International School, Rochester NY

I had such an amazing experience attending Shear Ego. From the first phone call to the end. The school is beautiful. I attended the Waxing course which is a 75 hour course. Even though it was a fast 75 hours I learned so much! And the hands on training was my favorite. The teachers are also so helpful. I would 100% recommend to attend Shear Ego.

I always had a good experience when I went on a weekly basis. I would have to dye my roots, have my hair washed, blown and flat ironed. The students would treat you with respect. The students were always trying to please their clients. The teacher would always supervise to see if you were pleased. Thank you Shear Ego.

The Friday afternoon student salon is awesome! Super affordable and the students get to really hone their skills. I had a blow out today and it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. If you have a chance to stop by on a Friday, try to get Tiffany St. Denis. She is fantastic!

I called ahead they told me to show up 10 am which I did then told me students are taking exams to come back at 12: 30 I came back they then told me to come at 1 30. I had to go back and fourth ridiculous. People have set schedules when you tell someone to come in make a commitment to your clients schedule.

Esthetics teachers who truly care about each and every student. You can also tell how passionate they are about their jobs because they make learning fun! I wake up excited to go to school everyday (which is over a hour drive) to learn from two different extraordinary and driven women. If I could give more stars I would! I 110% recommend shear ego for beauty school!

I got called a racist and was told I can't go there anymore because I wanted a black girl to do my black child's hair. The 1 time I let a white girl do it at Shear Ego it was NOT done well. My kid's hair, MY choice of who touches. PERIODT! Quote from my child "That old lady gave me Karen vibes from the 1st time I saw her! "
When I did get my child's hair done, it was a WHITE woman with 20+ yrs experience

School is SUPER RACIST HIGHLY WOULDNT RECOMMEND! First and foremost our makeup kits don’t come with ANY dark foundations or concealers that’s red flag number one. They use expired products for skin care and don’t care what it does to our skin, if we don’t have the procedures done we can’t graduate. They pick and choose who they discipline, they send black girls home for wearing religious head wraps, they hide your important test papers and tell you they don’t have them, they let teachers talk to the black students any kind of way and when we speak on it we get threatened to be expelled with no tuition money back. They really don’t care about our education everything is about money. They are VERY money hungry especially, the owner Gene. It’s very uncomfortable to get up and go to school everyday feeling like I’m going to be targeted to be expelled, I wouldn’t recommend this school to ANYBODY. I honestly think it needs to be closed the amount of things they get away with is insane.

Got there at 1230pm as a walk in was told it would be one hour. Came back at 1pm to waiting area. Receptionist said it would be a little longer the stylist are very busy and need to take a lunch. 2pm comes around still haven't been called. When the receptionist going to see who's can take us. Teacher tells us that we should of been at 130 to be seen. That they have no one and we can take you on monday. We left cause while we were there. They took four walk ins with out checking who has been waiting. Waste of my time. Will not be going back left 220 pm

I had a wash, blow dry and flat iron. Well, it was nice with the exception that she it too much hair conditioner in my scalp it became too greasy. I will have to have my daughter come over and wash the hair. This is the only way to get the excess grease out of my hair.
