Mediterranean Restaurant Shuka reviews
17Ambiance is a 5/5, not expensive 5/5 and Solid Mediterranean food 4/5, execution could have been a little better but overall a great restaurant. Fried halloumi cheese could have been a bit hotter wasn’t fully melted, fried cauliflower was incredible, and the feta with pistachio dip was the star, unique enough to warrant a return.
Outrageously good food and an interesting and friendly staff. Mark is fantastic. Jane at the bar is great. Love this place.
Make reservations 3 weeks in advance for 7: 45pm. As a result of massive traffic in the city, was running late. I tried to call but was only able to text them that I was running late. Arrived at 8: 15 to find out that my table was given away. I understand that they couldn’t hold my table for too long, but I confirmed the reservation and texted about the traffic situation. I was willing to wait, but they couldn’t accommodate.
We had fried halloumi, whipped feta and pistachio dip, and grilled lamb kebab. They were all fanstastic. I wish their pita were warmer/fluffier, though. Overall i highly recommend
Made reservations for brunch on a Sunday. Service, food and drinks were on point. Loved lamb merguez, za'atar fries and nicosia cocktail. Definitely going back to try their regular lamb dish
So delicious and the staff are super friendly. Food and wine menus will not disappoint. Definitely try this restaurant.
All the dips are fantastic and the lamb works so well with the chili garlic sauce. Highly recommend!
Went for brunch. Made a reservation beforehand. Was seated so quickly even though I was running 15 minutes late. The interior is so big and cute! There's a section in the back with skylights and beautiful botanic wall paper. There's also plenty of covered outdoor seating.
Food was delicious. I really loved the fried Halloumi and chocolate babka french toast. The whipped cream was so fresh and creamy! Drinks were strong but also delicious!
Tuna and steak meat was good but overall really disappointed with the Shuka Feast. Tiny portions and very average food
Nice & cozy place in soho. Food and drinks were very good. If you like Mediterranean food or Israeli cuisine with a twist. Shuka is the place. My favourites in my order was the Falafel, the beet Hummus and the chicken shawarma. I definitely will be back if I’m in the neighbourhood.
The best real Mediterranean Restaurant in Manhattan! Just amazing and the chef is doing a perfect job! Thank you for this experience!
Don't go! I think it was one of the worst places in NY that I was served. I won't go back and I don't recommend it.
The service from the receptionist is rude. The waiters would not leave us alone for two minutes. I swear! They wanted us to order right away so that we could leave. The dessert, the waiter had the nerve to take away the main dish that we were half way through to put the dessert that was supposed to come at the end. I hated it. It was one of the only times that a place made me very angry.
Consistently excellent food, service, cocktails, and ambiance. Try their dips with fresh pita, or anything! It’s all so good!
So many yummy things at Shuka! We started with baba ganoush eggplant dip which had so many unique spices. Then we had felafel which was wonderfully green and fresh inside. We shared the lamb merguez as our main dish and it was SO flavorful and delicious! Warm spices with tender chickpeas and a runny egg to mix with everything. Really tasty and great for sharing with another person. We were super full at this point but couldn’t pass up the baklava cinnamon roll, I MEAN COME ON! Yes, it was amazing and everything we wanted and yes I’d recommend you dine here. Great experience!
Delicious Mediterranean fusion. Don't miss the whipped feta-pistachio dip - incredibly delicious, with fresh flavors of lemon, mint and a hint of cilantro, served with warm fluffy fresh-baked pita. The lamb and beef skewers were marinated & grilled perfectly, every bite soft & delicious. No steak knives needed! The chicken schwarma was served on a large pita in a spiced yogurt-based sauce that was amazing. Our gin-based Sayan cocktail with lemon, lime and saffron syrup went perfectly with the meal. Yum! We intend to come back soon!
The food taste as good as it looks! The fried cheese is amazing never had anything like it, also the lamb is cooked to perfection, super soft full of flavor and savory. Perfect place for a lazy brunch.
