Silo City reviews
7Very cool old place in Buffalo. They are building some apartments which is nice to see something being done here however it is sad to think the history and ghost town feel will go away.
Right on Eastern shore of Lake Erie in Buffalo.
Great friendly people around Buffalo
If ya get a chance, go check out the Duende club in Silo City, near Gallagher pier
What an amazing hidden jem.you would never think of 1 turning down the road and 2 going all the way to the end.but when you do, there are so many hidden things to discover.they have a great walkway that guides you throughout the area.places you didn't think you could go to and see, but you can.along the way, you will find a great tree with a swing.a door that looks like something out of a stephen King movie.the food was great, and so was the service.what a great time.oh, they have indoor and outdoor stages for your music pleasure. It was our first time there, but we will definitely be back.
Larry the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the buildings and silos. You can tell he loves his job because he's very enthusiastic to tell you stories and history on the silos. He loves his job so much that he even shows up when he doesn't have a tour just to walk around. He even researched some of the equipment and brand names of equipment so he could tell you what the equipment does. Great job Larry! Highly recommend this tour but I don't recommend this tour if you can't do stairs.
Awesome place, enjoyed the tour and learning about the historic train box car there! Very interesting especially for Buffalo history buffs.
Strong shadows of concrete and industry tower over you, sounds and sights of renovations present and quit. Windows into routines of work fallen aside. A high repeating pride settles into monuments still sturdy in faded glory. I wish there had been an occasion to step inside a story told by one who knows.
This is a brownfield, the mill and surrounding areas have highly contaminated soil. Avoid the area with small children and avoid wearing open toed shoes. Decades of rat poison have resulted in high levels of hydrocarbons and arsenic. Wear appropriate clothing when urban exploring. Use high quality dust masks if entering silos, mold along with bird and rat droppings can make you sick.
