Smithtown Landing Golf Course LLC reviews
11 Played on 9/20 for the first time in roughly 20 years. Used to play here once or twice a month back in the day and enjoyed the course then.
I couldn't believe how this place has gone down hill. Literally an embarrassment.
Tees were 100% dirt on half the holes. Greens were littered with unrepaired ballmarks. Fairways burnt out
I was told by 2 members of the staff that conditions were due to dry summer. Well I've played at least 30 different course on long island this summer and none were remotely close to this. The others somehow found a way to water the tees and actually grow grass. Not at Smithtown Landing.
In 40 years of playing golf on long island, elsewhere in the U. S.and abroad never have I stepped foot on a golf course with such horrible tee boxes. (I guess the drought caused the tee boxes to not have one level spot also)
What a shame. This used to be a nice place for a round of golf.
Conditions as they are make Sunken Meadow look like Augusta.
The slap in the face is the staff saying the tee boxes and burnt out fairways and rough are the same and no worse than anywhere else.
Wish I had taken photos to add to review because I am in no way exaggerating.
Spend your money and your day literally anywhere else and you'll have made a wise choice.
Played a round at Smithtown landing in August 2022. It is a typical public, municipal course on Eastern Long Island. There is ample parking and a banquet space. You have to carry your clubs uphill to the pro shop as they do not allow power carts in the parking lot.
Tee boxes - perhaps some of the worst I have played this year.hardly any soft grass and barely enough to push a tee into the ground. Was not a confident feeling, especially for the par 3s on this course, when you cannot get solid footing on the hard pan in the boxes.
Fairways - majority were decent, but many were sloped and hard pan. Most had just enough to get your club under the ball.
Greens - above average and challenging! The grass was not lush by any means; very DRY and difficult to judge speed. Whomever replaced cups, left a little raised bubble at every new hole location, so the last 6 inches of every putt broke awkwardly.
Driving range - cannot even call it that. It's about 175 yards of rock and the tee boxes are foam pads set at very awkward angles.
The course itself had a unique layout although some par 4s were really long (430) and some short (285?) ; not for me.
The pro shop staff and starter were nice.
Would not choose to play here again, especially for $70 weekend.
I can not say enough positive things about this place! Our daughter got married here and the staff was absolutely amazing! Mandy was fabulous to work with. The maître d' Joe was amazing. Gina the bridal attendant was the real MVP! She took care of all the bride, the bridesmaids and myself. She gave extra care to one very pregnant bridesmaid.
The food was great. The bartenders were great. The dj and the photographer were so on top of things! I'm beyond pleased because everything leading up to this day was chaotic since nobody lives local! Thank you again Smithtown Landing Country Club!
If you’re looking for an amazing place to have a party, this is the place. I can’t say enough about Mandy and the job she did making sure our daughters Bat Mitzvah was the best day ever. Joe, the Maitre’d was absolutely phenomenal and attended to all of our needs and made sure we were able to enjoy the day. Really just an amazing staff of people. Evelyn, thanks for having a team in place that makes sure a special day is as memorable as can be!
Nephew had wis wedding here. Very nice place staff were awesome. Not sure if the food was catered or from the country club but the food was high class and so so good.
The Smithtown Landing is super wonderful and I play golf there, I also take Golf lessons there
Easy to see right off of Landing Street servicing Smithtown and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Catering Hall has 3 Buildings so Multiple events are going on at once. Moderately clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. Nice staff. We will most likely be going back.
Wide open, never in much trouble on this undulating course. Very affordable and fun to play, some tricky greens.
I love the atmosphere for wedding or special event would highly recommend to newly engaged couples to set a dat here. Parking is great and close by. The place is well kept and organized.
Not sure. But this court, arena, sports spot might be polluting the N. River and causing imbalances down into the waters in Blydenburg. Grass addiction is a thing.
WOW This place went down the tubes hard. The greens were absolutely horrible. The tee boxes were all crab grass, where there was grass!
