The by-the-glass wine list was better than what I anticipated, paired with great sounding jazz in a small intimate room. What more.

A dream of our to go to a live Jazz club - and we were not disappointed with Smoke.
That Buttermilk fried Chicken. DAMN!

Nice and cozy jazz place in Harlem.
George Coleman played with his band and it was excellent. They have two performances 7 pm and 9 pm. I went to the 9 pm one. The show and the place are excellent. The experience is a bit expensive. Admission costs around $50 and does not include anything other than access to the show. If you go to the 9 pm performance, it is mandatory to consume one main dish per person, which makes the outing a little more expensive. I was at one of the tables furthest from the stage but it still looked perfect. Great option to listen to good music or have a romantic outing.

Even while wearing ear plugs, I found the amplification oppressive for such an intimate space, and we were as far from the stage as we could get.

Table in back for 4 ($55 cover) is isolated from seating for 2 next to it, so not possible for group of 5 or 6.

This place is the best Jazz club I have ever been too!
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, wanted to give her a different experience which we definitely got! The staff here is beyond amazing. I’m very particular when it comes to customer service, this place has exceptional customer service!
The food 10/10! The best burger I ever had in my entire life! Once again I’m very picky and particular when it comes to food as well.
The band that played was absolutely amazing!
Overall a perfect place to go to just sit and relax and enjoy some good instrumentation with amazing staff!

Have been to this club several times, visit almost every time I’m in NYC! Great food and always wonderful music, service is always on point. New lounge area is super cozy!

Classy dinner club for jazz - all seats are good; we had a table a couple of rows back on the side which was good for it all. They were smart to stagger reservations so ordering and getting dinner was relaxed.

Smoke was on my list of jazz clubs to visit when I came to New York and it ended up being the first one I came to when I arrived in town. We saw Peter Bernstein and the music was great. Sound in the room was very good. Food was a bit hit and miss- one meal excellent, the other just ok. If I had to pick something to really critique it would be the terrible table setup. Everyone is squeezed in at long tables and holding a conversation before the music starts or eating when you’re almost literally sitting in your neighbour’s lap is not a very satisfactory experience. Lots of jazz clubs have tight spaces and close contact with other patrons but most serve drinks only and I do think when food is involved it’s really problematic and uncomfortable if the person next to you can hear everything you say (and vice versa) and your food is just centimetres from the person next to you especially if they’re coughing and sneezing and sniffling……
All in all a club I would return to for the music but not a fan of the layout of the room.

Good food, world class music. Poorly set up dining room with the jazz because you really have to crane your neck to see depending on the seat you have. Miss the booths.

The Band was amazing that performed Aug. 26,2023 when we went! The drummer and bass player were my favs! Food and atmosphere was also great. We came to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and they brought him a dessert with a candle. That made the night even more special. We will be back again!

Great show by Jonathan Blake. Great food. Too many tables in the small room. Mine was almost on stage and frankly, I suggest getting one at the back of the hall so you can get a better view.

Loved my first jazz club experience in New York at Smoke! Food was surprisingly delicious, and the server (a woman with glasses (didn't get her name) was very attentive and lovely. Performance was great too. One thing though, the sitting arrangement is quite intimate so if you go by yourself like me you could eat with a stranger sitting right in front of you lol it was a bit awkward, but just a experience!

Amazing night at Smoke! I can't decide what was better the food, the music, or the service. 10/10 head uptown to smoke!

Didn't see a show, just had drinks and apps at the bar, but the music was piped in, so we heard everything. Great bar! The bartender was awesome. Great dirty martinis

When you imagine what a NYC jazz club would look like this is it. Cozy, intimate and very sexy. The perfect room to hear jazz music and have a great dinner.

Absolutely delicious take out meal purchased on way bake from the iconic Smoke Jazz Club. Prompt service and tasty meal. Yum!

I have been tonight, the show is very cool, the musicians are fantastic but the location is lousy. Table 37 and 38, literally attached to the stage in such a way that Steve Turre's trombone invaded my table, we couldn't move because it hit our heads, and the worst thing is that the condensed vapor of the instrument's saliva fell on the table, food and drink, disgusting. After the complaint to the local they have not charged us for the food, but for the drink. The worst thing is undoubtedly that we have not enjoyed the show. I advise taking the table from the middle to the back.
