So Pho 88 reviews
18I got the stir fried soba noodles with shrimp to go and they were SO delicious. The portion pictured came out to about $13. The restaurant itself is small with mostly counter seating but the to-go food I got was so amazing I’ll definitely be back.
Placed on order via GrubHub, delayed twice and then canceled. Be mindful when ordering EOD. A simple phone call to cancel would of been thoughtful and respectful.
During my recent visit to So Pho 88, I had the opportunity to sample a diverse selection of Vietnamese cuisine, each dish offering its own unique blend of flavors and textures.
Starting with the Vietnamese Spring Rolls and Vegetable Spring Rolls, I found these appetizers to be somewhat enjoyable. The traditional blend of fresh ingredients encased in rice paper offered a refreshing start to the meal.
The standout items included the Steam Pork Bun and Grandma's Pan Fried Pork Buns, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed. These buns exhibited a delightful mix of savory flavors within their soft, steamed dough or crispy fried exteriors. The Houses Special Scallion Pancakes also stood out, showcasing a pleasing crispiness and likely a delectable incorporation of scallions.
Moving on, the Steam Mushroom Vegi Bun, Steam BBQ Pork Buns, and Grandma's Pan Fried Pork Buns were also enjoyed during my dining experience. Their varied fillings and cooking methods contributed to a satisfying array of tastes.
However, the Bun Xao (Vietnamese Pad Thai) and Basil Mango Fried Rice, though somewhat enjoyed, didn't entirely meet expectations. These dishes, while flavorful, might benefit from further refinement to align more closely with personal taste preferences.
The beverages, including the Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Lychee Smoothies, provided a mixed experience. While the smoothies were enjoyable, they leaned toward being overly sweet. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee offered a bold taste but fell slightly short of complete satisfaction.
Revisiting Grandma's Pan Fried Pork Buns, Steam BBQ Pork Buns, Steam Pork Bun, and the Classic Sandwich reiterated their consistent quality and enjoyable nature.
Overall, my dining experience at So Pho 88 showcased a diverse menu with highlights such as the steamed and fried buns, savory pancakes, and satisfying sandwiches. While certain dishes may require minor adjustments to better align with personal tastes, the restaurant's strengths in offering flavorful, well-prepared Vietnamese cuisine were evident throughout the meal.
Whoa! Pleasantly surprised by this place.came for a quick bite, and the food was actually really good.
Food was really good. I ate here with my family, as well as some other places in Williamsburg and I enjoyed this one a lot, especially for the pho and spring rolls.
Shoutout to So Pho 88 for always satisfying my pho cravings! The balance of flavors in their broth is perfection, and their noodles are slurp-tastic.
I’m sorry but this place has honestly the worst pho I’ve ever put in my mouth. Pho is one of my favorite foods. This place only has good reviews from people who’ve never had real pho. But that’s the neighborhood they’re catering to so I can’t even blame them.
The moment I walked in, I knew it was off. A pho place that does primarily to go? You know a place is good by judging how it tastes dining in. Nothing about the interior was familiar to any pho establishment I’ve been to.
The second the broth came out, the color was off. Then they gave hoisin sauce that was watered down and this red sweet & sour sauce that was so bad. They said they didn’t have sriracha.
The broth was so flavorless. I had one sip and contemplated whether I should just walk out. I continued eating and it felt like torture to think about having a few more bites much less finish the entire bowl. It was the worst thing I’ve had in a long time. The cilantro is the one thing that resembled pho.
If you are someone who has never had genuine pho in their lives and doesn’t care about having an authentic experience, then this place is for you. The lady was nice though.
I LOVE this place. I always get their takeout and it’s consistent, delicious, and delivered super fast
This is the ultimate pho fix in Brooklyn! Their broth is like a flavor explosion, and their fresh ingredients make every bite a delight.
Good food! I just had the pork fried rice and it was delicious. Planning on coming back to try their pho and bubble tea!
So Pho 88 is my Vietnamese comfort food haven! Their spring rolls are crispy and delicious, and their pho warms my soul on a chilly day.
SO delicious! Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but food and staff are absolutely amazing. I’m definitely coming back next time just for the spring rolls, pad thai, and bubble tea.
This is my pho-ever favorite! The flavors in their soup are out of this world, and the portion sizes are generous. Can't get enough!
The combination of fresh herbs, tangy lime, and savory broth in their pho is pure perfection.
It is my guilty pleasure! Whenever I need a pick-me-up, their pho never fails to hit the spot. Comfort food at its finest!
A hidden gem in Brooklyn! The ambiance is cozy, the service is top-notch, and their pho is like a warm hug for my taste buds.
This is pho real the best Vietnamese spot in NY! Their pho bowls are always on point, and the service is friendly and quick.
The pho broth soup is so delicious. And They also have a vietnamese coffee and spring roll. If you vegetarian, you also can ask them for veggie broth here.
