Sodus Point Beach Park reviews
17We stopped for a picnic during a rainy Saturday afternoon in mid-October. There were dry picnic tables under the shelter. The bathrooms were locked, but there was a clean, handicapped accessible porta-potty in the parking lot. The park certainly met our needs and we appreciated the views.
Nice beach and a great place to enjoy the waves. But, if you're going to see the lighthouse, there are much better lighthouses to visit on Lake Ontario.
Beautiful area to go for a Sunday afternoon walk. There's also a very nice playground for the kiddos as well!
Nice beach and play ground but its more fun walking out on the pier when the waves are coming in and getting you wet.
Love it here, wish the concession stand was open, i know, covid, the excuse that covers everything
Beautifully clean and the water was so clear when my sister and I brought the dogs there a week and a half ago.
Me and my family love coming here such a great place I wish they would redo the pier a little bit there's quite a few cracks and holes where my two-year-old would fall down and I was nervous about him falling in the water with no handrails on the side
Great little beach right at the outlet to Sodus Bay. Lifeguards and bathroom facilities. Ice cream and food if you want. A beautiful ride along the Lakeshore to get there from Rochester.
Always a beautiful spot to visit. During the summer there are restrooms/changing rooms, a shower, a small snack bar, a pavilion, and a small playground for children as young as infant/toddlers. The sand beach is great for a sun drenched day, and has a sidewalk that goes closer to shore for wheelchair access as well as strategically placed benches. The pier ends in a beautiful lighthouse and is great for a short walk.
Off season the snackbar, shower, and restrooms/changing rooms close, but a porta-potty is in place. You MAY want to grab napkins or your own tp, as there isn't always the proper supplies inside.
All in all, as a
Nice beach. We launched a kayak near the beach where the sheriff station is. Nice place to launch but your boat will get very sandy! So bring a towel to get the bulk off before loading it back into your car.
Had a great time with my family. It was a bit chilly as we went in the beginning of October but it was still beautiful. The kids ran on the beach and walked the pier while dad and I sat on a bench enjoying the breeze and sound of the waves rolling in. At one point I laid on the beach and just let the sun hit me and listened to the sounds of the water and the families enjoying themselves at the playground and playing beach games. This is worth the trip for me (around an hour one direction) bc the beach is actually sand and there's a really nice playground. Also bathroom at the right time of year. There's places to cook food and just enjoy quality time with family and friends! Don't miss out on this place, it's a must see!
Love a little peace at the beach just enjoying the sea air and sounds of the waves. A great place to get re-centered. A nice family atmosphere when warm. Nice picnic area. The beach is a little small but lovely.
I cannot praise the lifeguards on duty Sunday, August 22nd. I got stung by a bee on my finger. I entered the water hoping to stop the swelling. Well, that didn't work. I went up to first aid and those kids were fantastic! The girl and one of the boys quickly got ice for me, another boy went to the maintenance room searching for something to cut my ring off. He quickly and calmly cut my ring off before my finger lost all circulation. Again, those kids were wonderful! Wish, I could remember their names. Please thank them so much for me! GREAT choice hiring those 3 young adults!
Beautiful beach, sandy, big waves and long horizon! The wave s has created a sand bar that broke mose of the waves and created a shallow up to 6 inch deep play area for my 3 year old who was happy to stay out of the big cold waves! Great place to rock hunt with all the glacial till. Some great memories made. There also is a playground large pavilion for picnics.
In all of the 33 years I have been alive I have never been here. The day my boyfriend took me to this spot made me cry because being back on this lake is amazing. I haven't been on that lake in years since my grandparents passed away.
It's now completely remodeled, and a new public building with bathrooms and concessions.
A walkway from the building onto the Sandy beach. Lifeguard stations, and roped area for swimming, and a state of the art new playground set.
Pavilion with table and benches to enjoy a meal.
