Beautiful building but limited art on display- besides the small collection highlight to the side, I think there were only 3 featured artists in the main building. Definitely a check off my bucket list but I might choose another museum to visit if I come back to NYC.
The building was smaller than expected, but the combination/symbiosis of the great architecture and art collection is unique and breathtaking.
Extremely disappointing! Extremely. For some time in Gillian exhibit I had to wonder if I'm in a kindergarten or an actual world renowned museum. It's interesting to see what passes for exceptional art today and how much the standards have dropped, or a lack of complete access to the type of talent who should be exhibited. If Met museum is $25 per visit then Guggenheim exhibit must be selling around 5 cents by comparison. On top of that a badly lit and poorly arranged. Utterly wasted time.
Really nice museum, if only from an architectural standpoint. Everything is on a spiral ramp that goes up and then on each floor there are rooms, which usually host an exhibition. Unlike the other museums, this is the only one that has kept the free offer ticket to enter, which is usually on Saturday from 4pm to 6pm.you still need to reserve your ticket online for free admission as well. It is definitely worth a visit, which lasts 1 hour, 1.5 hours at most.
One of my favorites! Try to get the free Guggenheim Saturdays, which the museum offers once a month! Pro tip, sometimes your local library also offers free museum passes to the Guggenheim! Enjoy!
So much floor and wall space but the artwork offered for the human eyes is just a sad excuse for the word it claims to represent.
Definitely worth going there. The building is an architectural gem and the Kandinsky exhibition is a rare delight
Oh my gosh what an iconic place! It was such a pleasure to come spend an afternoon here without all the crowds. The Kandinsky exhibit was terrific!
Terrific museum— a great mix of very recent and slightly older modern and contemporary art. The walk through the rotunda is a great way to explore the exhibits, and the architecture is lovely. The line to get in may go around the block, so advanced reservation is recommended. The queues are well managed, and they move fast. The staff is very helpful and professional.
