25Decided to come here for dinner on a Sunday without reservations. Surprisingly enough we were given seats the second we walked in. (There were only 2 of us) We sat at the kitchen view seats and it made the experience even better. The whole time we were able to watch the food being made and decided what to order from there.
Love this place for brunch. The chicken and waffles are prob the best I've had. The drinks are delicious and strong. The atmosphere for brunch is lively, loud and so much fun.
Great music, good service, and cute inside. If your looking for a quiet brunch spot this is not the place. We were turnt at 2pm! Food is average – I had crispy chicken sandwich with Truffle fries (nothing special)
I would visit again.
Food was delicious (I got a veggie burger) and reasonable priced. Staff was very friendly and answered my questions. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area.
They was very aggressive when speaking to them. It was my friends birthday and we had such a bad experience. The manager harassed us to make sure one of our guest did not partake in the brunch menu when we are adults and follow directions clearly. I’ll never come back to this place.
It's a fun boozy brunch spot for sure - I had a lot of fun for my friends 30th bday here. The servers were attentive and not cheap with the unlimited mimosas. I docked a star bc i didn't really enjoy my chicken and waffles. But the truffle tater tots were amazing! Would still recommend if you're looking for a fun brunch spot - even if you're a big group.
This place has great vibes and gets super busy. Worth a visit if you're in the area, especially for food and drinks. My wife and I really wish we could have spent some more time at this spot.
The food was good, but the ambiance was phenomenal! Great DJ, and awesome staff!
I hate cornbread, but this place has opened me up to a new found love for it!
Such a mood. Went for Saturday brunch for a bday (along with half of the city). DJ playing excellent music and the food is great.you can't really wrong with unlimited mimosas, fried chicken, and jams.
A fun fact about the bday package- they make custom signs for the bday person. Very cute! (Balloons not included).
Pro tip: when they switch from bfast to dinner service, they will not serve you new drinks at their bar.
I've been planning a New year's Eve get together for weeks and decided on The Sons of Essex as venue. Immediately upon meeting Emmy who is the biggest reason for me choosing this venue, I knew my friends and family would have a night to remember. When we arrived on new years Eve, we were treated with the best service imaginable. The food here is excellent. My favorite was the chicken sandwich. John is a bartender at The Sons of Essex and he knows how to keep people in a positive mood. He knows what he is doing behind the bar and knows how to serve drinks like a pro. The crowd was a very upbeat, good looking crowd. The DJ was excellent and played some of the best songs to keep everyone on the dance floor. The security staff kept everyone safe and allowed everyone to enjoy the evening with their professionalism. My friends and family truly had a night to remember thanks to Emmy, John and staff. In a city full of poorly ran establishments, The Sons of Essex is a gem! I have a another go to place to visit when I want to eat great food, unwind and relax to drinks and music, and to host group events. Emmy thank you
If u r going for a late dinner reservation. This is not the place! They rush u to eat as fast as u can so they can turn the table for the night club. Food is very good though. Great vibe but come and eat early
This is my "Go-To" spot for a chill night out with great music. Pretty much never fails and I bring all of my guests here for a good time. Good music, good dinner, and great vibes. Fridays are the best night to go at around 11pm.
85+ Taxes and Tip for horrible food and sweet mimosas. Basically you're paying for the vibe which is kinda steep
This bouncer didn't want to let us in. He also offended me and got aggressive and unprofessional with my friend. Plus trying to flirt on my other friend.
Perfect place for brunch in the city! Ordered the Steak and Huevos. The steak was cooked perfectly and so juicy! Highly recommended!
The MOST Awesome breakfast and lunch experience i have ever experienced. Great service! Good food! Cool dj! All the guests were happy to be there
It was a fun Sunday, the food was good, the vibe great, cocktails delicious, waitress and bartender girl really nice, the Dj a little bit grumpy when we asked him to change the music, however we had a great time.
Good place to go for karaoke and delicious food! Had a amazing mac n cheese and a pizza with truffle which was also tasty!
Actually enjoyed the music and service there but as my friend and I were leaving we were standing at the edge of the sidewalk trying to order a car and the bouncer told us we had to move over so we did then he and the other bouncer got physically and verbally aggressive with us, threatening us and telling us we needed to get off the sidewalk. We were quietly trying to order a car and informed them of that but insisted we couldn't be on the sidewalk and became physical. I've lived in 5 states and I've never experienced such aggressive, inappropriate behavior. We were just trying to leave. I will a NEVER go there again and only bc the bouncer was physically inappropriate. Worst experience I have ever had at a bar in 5 states
There was nothing wrong wrong with the drinks but the service was below par. We were TOLD we cannot split a bill. How hard it is to split a bill!?
