SOS Roofing NY

Overall, I don't know if I can recommend SOS Roofing since we had such a mixed experience with them. Ed Higgins the sales person was super knowledgable and worked with me to find the right roof option. We went with a corrugated metal roof as well as vinyl fascia and soffits. When it came to scheduling the actual work to be done, the materials delivery, etc.the communication from the company was not as great. I had to call and email numerous times to get an answer on when the work would start and any details (e.g, for delivery of materials, how long things would take). There was no communication on crew arrival times (they just showed up at the house one day).

The fascia and soffit crew did a nice job and even worked through the rainstorm. When the roofing crew showed up, the materials had not been delivered, and they had to leave and come back a different day. The roofing crew was nice and wanted to do a good job, but were at times careless (throwing debris off the roof that hit our newer front windows). The work was finished in July, but there were several touchups that needed to be done (including replacing a missing screw and paint). It is now December, and we're still waiting for this to be finished (despite the paint coming in at the beginning of September).

I would say that for the actual work, SOS Roofing and the crews they have are dedicated to doing a good job. The organization, scheduling, and communication side of things is clearly lacking. I just can't believe it has taken almost 6 months to put in a screw and touch up some paint.

11/2023-I am editing my review to thank SOS Roofing for the gift card for referring a customer to them. This is a Superior company, that follows through. Just one more indication of a good quality company! Thank you SOS Roofing, so glad that I chose you for my roof replacement.

From sales to service this company did it all professionally.
The salesman was very professional, explaining the different products as well as the installation process did not push for the sale. Gave me time to make decisions. The installers did an excellent job very meticulous, no trace of them even being in the yard after the job was completed. Everything cleaned right down to weeping off the rails on my deck. They left no nails, scraps or materials behind. The owner came by multiple times to check on the work being done to ensure that my questions were answered very professional. The office personnel was very prompt, returning my calls, and addressing my questions. Can’t say enough about the company, I highly recommend them for the quality of their craftsmanship, their professionalism and their fairness in pricing.

I was at wits end my roof leaking bad…. My former roofer unavailable Syracuse weather against me but my daughter and sister in law recommended SOS…. I made the call and David said how can I help you …. Roof leaks bad I said …. Immediately he was at my door fixed my roof and leak is gone.

I spoke with 3 contractors for the roof, they were the most professional and responsive. Literature and shingle samples for me to review, estimate on the spot that actually matched the quote when all was said and done. Done in one day even with multiple sections

Roof was done on time and looks great very professional Business. Dave the owner was very responsive and answered any questions I had. All in all I am very happy with the work and communication of the company!

Their crew did a great job, but we had a few problems. Owner seemed sincere about trying to resolve them. Had to fix them myself because of communication failures at SOS - which he says that he has resolved.

I had gutters installed on my home to replace gutters that have worn out. I had an issue with said gutters and Dave, the owner, personally came and corrected the problem. He didn't charge me for this service and the gutters are now working great! He's a great businessman with a very busy schedule so be patient. He will get back to you.

DO NOT HIRE!

Had a roof leak and they took forever to come fix, even when we decided to do the entire roof. SOS didnt even do it, they subcontracted it out. Also had siding to fix and they left a hole in the side of our house for over a week.

A few months later the roof leaked and an actual SOS employee came out, apologized it wasn't done correctly and said they fix it and pay to repair the damage inside. Then the owner called and refused and tried to blame our gutters. Eventually they sent the subcontractors back out, turns out all the back and forth about a plan to ensure leaks wouldn't happen from the neighboring townhouse was a waste as they didn't tell the subcontractors, which is what led to the leak. After our contractor fixed inside they refused to pay for any repairs. What made it worse is it leaked in area that had just been remodeled.

There are way better companies in the area to hire, don't be misled by the pictures they post of other people's work.

I had a wonderful experience with SOS Roofing. They responded promptly and offered competitive pricing. The crew was fast and efficient and my new roof is absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend them to anyone wanting a new roof!

SOS Roofing completed an asphalt roof and gutter replacement job at our house in August 2023. Working with SOS Roofing was a great experience from beginning to end. After seeing the quality of their work in our neighborhood and meeting with the company's sales rep, hiring SOS roofing for the job was an easy decision. The sales rep was very quick to set up a visit after we initially contacted the company. While at our house, he thoroughly explained what needed to be done as part of our roof replacement, the materials that would be used, the steps of the job, and the warranty of the materials & workmanship. He then provided us with all of the shingle options along with his recommendations and gave us a fair estimate. Shortly after we contacted the SOS Roofing office manager to accept the estimate and give our material decisions, we were given a date for the job. A dumpster and all the materials arrived the day before the job started. The roofing crew who performed our roof replacement were outstanding! They worked incredibly hard and meticulously to complete the job to our satisfaction. Throughout much of the job, a foreman was present to support the crew and answer all of our questions. The day after the completion of our job, the dumpster was hauled away and the owner came out to do a final job inspection. He was very thorough in looking over the whole job and immediately addressing any concerns we had. While there, we both came to the conclusion that a 70' gutter on the back of our house needed to be replaced! While he didn't come to our house expecting to complete this added step, he took the time to take care of it because he was motivated to get it done right away! It was very obvious to me how much pride the owner has in his company and how important customer satisfaction is to him. It was a real pleasure working with the entire SOS Roofing team. Everyone who has seen our new roof has been very impressed. We would not hesitate to highly recommend SOS Roofing to anyone looking for first class roofing work!
