South Yonkers Family Medicine

This review has been a long time coming. My review is solely based on the front office staff and Dr. Fresneda, please keep in mind it does not reflect an opinion of Dr. Kovor or Diana the Nurse Practioner on staff there. My mother and I had been visiting this practice for more than twenty years. The past few times we have visited, Dr. Fresneda has not been present. We were passed off to either Diana, or Dr. Kovor. The medical assistant excluding Mr. Walter who is always a pleasure, was extremely rude and incompetent. My mother and I visited in early March prior to my mother being vaccinated against Covid-19. My mother is disabled due to a neurological condition, I assist her with walking and getting onto things such as a scale for vitals. I informed the medical assistant several times not to touch her that I would assist her as I always do. He didn’t listen as usual. I have also had bad experiences with this person. We were led to the room to wait for Diana, to get the letter that was necessary for my mother to be vaccinated. The medical assistant then bends down and tells my mother not to cry, she was crying in pain because someone who was told not to touch her decided to try and help when he was told several times not to. First of all you don’t tell someone who is pain to not cry, second if there caregiver has given you instructions not to touch the person they are helping you follow the directions and don’t touch the person. To top all of this off, the front of staff has consistently made fun of my mother in Spanish. Hi, I fully understand Spanish and know what was said, but didn’t disclose it to my mother to not make her feel worse than she already did. Lastly we received a call at 9pm on a Thursday to my mother’s home from Dr. Fresneda herself stating that no prescriptions could be given because my mother hasn’t been there in over a year when we there a week before. This is extremely unprofessional and obviously your front of office staff is too busy gossiping and poking fun at patients to keep your office organized. As someone that also worked with my mother at St. Joseph’s hospital for seventeen years and as a person my mother considered a friend, you should be ashamed of yourself and the office you are leading. We will not be returning and have found a doctor who cares about their patients and is actually organized as well as the office staff. You will lose most of your patients with these bad practices. I am extremely upset and angry over the way my mother was treated that day.

I have been a patient here for 20 plus years. They have gotten me through some pretty rough times. Dr. Kavoor and his staff are always there for you. Wouldn’t change my PCP in a million. Thank you guys for everything!

It can be a very long wait at times but it’s worth it. Dr Kovoor is an amazing doctor who really knows what he’s talking about. He’s very caring, and always has his patients best interests at heart. Which in this day and age is very important.
It’s great, I’ve been going here for 10 years now and adore all the staff. Highly recommend

Am really sorry for everyone who has a bad experience at this facility. It's a great experience I always have here, didn't see the receptionist rude and Dr Kovoor know his job I really appreciate his work. I will highly recommend this facility and Dr Kovoor. For me it's worth waiting.

They should change the girls in the front. Very rude, unrespactful, unprofessional girls. They should get some lessons of how to treat patients!

I always get treated respectfully and promptly. The wait time is never long. Whatever lab work and physicals get carried out right away. The office is very clean
