Southpoint Park reviews
10Small, quiet park good to visit for 30-60mins. Cornell tech is a short walk away to grab a coffee too.
If you’re going to Roosevelt Island, this is a great place to walk and relax. Like the name says, it is the southernmost part of the island. It is safe and easy to walk.
Spectacular park … quiet and just peaceful with so much history.
Amazing skyline views of the Manhattan Eastside.
It's a good place to chill. Too bad they don't have many places where you can sit. The view is awesome. Would definitely recommend visiting the park if you're looking for some peace on your day.
It’s definitely a gem great view of Manhattan and queens. They have bike lanes and stroll path too.
It's nice they put in bathrooms and a university but they closed off the southern end of the island for some ridiculous gaudy marble causi-private self serving memorial park for a president who would have wanted it left natural and beautiful. Wasted public space for the benefit of a rich benefactor. Its fenced off with guard and not only can you not ride your bike, you can't even push it. It clashes with the historic smallpox hospital. Give it back to the public and make it inviting.
Nice, quiet park from where you can enjoy the beautiful views. They also have a nice shelter for rescued cats.
So peaceful here, with a free bus ride around the island. The cable car over is amazing with brilliant views of the city
What a beautiful park, great day out, amazing view, grass, trees, birds, water all around, a must go for tourists
I walk and bike in this park since it was opened. What I can say is that I enjoy the setting and the layout and the exceptional views of Manhattan, especially at sunset, and the resident Canadian geese, and the relative quietness. Many comfortable benches, clean and large alleys. Also, it flows into the Four Freedoms Park, which is beautiful by itself.
Reach it by subway, taking a walk from the F train, at Roosevelt Island station, or the famous Roosevelt Island (cable) Tram, along the Japanese cherry alley and the new Cornell Tech campus, which make your visit even more worthwhile.
