Spa is nice in it self. The massage therapist are not great. I think it’s best to save your money and go to another spot for a massage. We spent $$$ on massages and they acted like they hated their jobs. But the spa environment is nice overall. But note that during summer break there are allot of children in pool area.

Great Place to Escape the same usualy Spa U get elsewhere. This place is big to explore has many wTer jets and family friendly! I love the Bar, can have a few drinks and relax. Food is also good and u can get from salad/ Fruit bar as well! Steam rooms and Suanas at its best!

It fell off after COVID and got extra expensive for no reason. With too many new rules as well! And that damn security check is annoying! You don't trust your patrons then don't run a business. And SEPARATE families from solo patrons!

During the holidays, I came here, and I have been for quite a few times. The experience is the same but still relaxing. Although here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
-The staff was welcoming when I checked in
-The pools were well heated during the cold weather (it was only like 22 degrees that day)
-The relaxing room was open on the 3rd floor, even though the one on the Mezzanine was closed
-Water to drink and hydrate (no extra fee)
-Beautiful view of Powell's Cove Park, East River, and the Whitestone Bridge
-Same fun and relaxation experience from home and school

Cons:
-The fitness room is no longer there
-Some of the features in the pools were not working
-Food was quite overpriced, even for snacks
-Time goes by very fast and then it's time to go

Overall, Spa Castle will always be my go to place on occasions or holidays. I will sure to come back whenever I'd like. 100% still the best spa.

Edit: Can't wait to see Spa Castle again after the renovations are complete. Bet it'll be as good as before, and as it always is.

They need to enforce ppl to wrap their hair or put a bathing cap on. It's disturbing seeing hair in the water and trying to avoid it. Also everything has changed. They don't give the pink shirt and pants anymore or towels. Everything is at a high cost for the same old products. Only thing good about this place is the massages but book in advance. Takes hrs for them to call you

I went the last day before construction. It definitely needs a face-lift. They should have charged less that day as well bc things were closed and falling apart. I will give it another go in the future. I believe in 2nd chances.

Spa castle is a nice place to go and relax. The staff is fairly nice. The food was delicious but expensive. They're are nice and heated pools that work well on my legs. It can get very crowded. So plan to be there early and leave early.

My god is terrible, only one small towel is free, big one needs to pay, there is no steam suit provided, you have to wear your own clothes or swim suit for dry sauna (I mean what’s this), on top of that, the bath is not even hot! (93 f/33 degrees)! So many showers is not working! I don’t understand how come this place even still open!

Really disappointed this time around. So much construction going on. It wasn't loud but wasn't very relaxing at all. So many non construction things not working or closed (jets out of order in the nude area, fitness and smoking area closed). They are stingy with the towels and make you pay for EVERYTHING. After I pay full price while you are undergoing construction, you cant give me a full length towel? When I called beforehand to ask if things were available/closed (I noticed their ice sauna was closed online) the person on the phone mentioned nothing of construction and was completely inaccurate about what was and wasn't working. It was my first time bringing my fiance and I talked it up sooo much so you can imagine my disappointment and need to share my recent experience. I probably won't come back until construction is done, maybe not ever again honestly.

One of the most disappointing experiences of my life. After walking around for 10 minutes we asked for a refund. They close in two days for construction so I hope they make some major changes. This is going to sound very pretentious, but If you have been to any Scandinavian sauna facilities don’t even think about coming here as it will be a massive disappointment. I looked into a few of the saunas and there were…. No benches. Just people splayed out on the floor that I would have to step over to find a space to then sit… on the ground. More of a sweat lodge vibe than a sauna.

The lack of showering facilities between the saunas and pools was very concerning, especially for a barefoot facility. The lack of people showering at all coming from the street to the spa is unsanitary and the place just looked like a breeding ground for infection. I got more of a public pool vibe from this place and not a relaxing spa, especially with all the kids. I’m glad the manager quickly offered a refund. Castle Spa, please use your time being under construction to implement better cleanliness practices. Showers need to be mandatory and should be the last step between locker room and the rest of the facility, period.

Nice place for the price $50. Went on a Monday but needs to be updated because some rooms are closed and some of the jets in the water don’t work.

Hadnt been here in a while and they need to do some serious work. 4 of the baths in the ladies were a completely different temperature than stated. The cold dipping pool, no water in it.cold Shower outside the sauna, not working. Jetties in the bath, not working.rooftop jetties, same thing. Restaurant closed at 8.too early. Would be nice to have a little spinner for bathing suits so you dont have to take everything home dripping wet.

Spa Castle has changed, of course, since the pandemic. Don't expect the cute matching outfits. Bring your own spa wear, bath towel, and swim wear. Robes can be rented and wear mask in side the building. No more buffet go to third floor restaurant. Avoid the Calamari.it's like chewing a rubber band. But the pools are still great! Splash away Swim bar still packs a punch. Enjoy!

Went with friends to spa Castle yesterday. I absolutely love the concept, it feels just like a bathhouse in Europe. Front desk staff was friendly, the ladies handing out the towels in the back women's locker room not as helpful, both just wanted to talk to each other in Korean and seemed irritated when I had to interrupt their conversations to ask for help.
I expected the other people participating in this particular spa experience to be a little more sophisticated. I walked into one of the small rooms to find two girls in thongs taking pictures of themselves in inappropriate positions. Many couples were getting way too intimate in the pools, all though there are No PFA signs all around the facility. Nobody came over to stop them, it was very uncomfortable around my friends teenage daughter. I wish people would have more respect in that aspect. Food and drinks were good, I would love to give this place more stars. It has lots of potential!

Fun times and very relaxing, this is the first spa I went to a decade ago! Now they are closing for a solid renovation. Looking forward to coming back after the upgrades. Still today was fun as hell.

Huge outdoor pools, hot tubs and massaging jets on the top floor. Second floor has 7 different saunas and a place to order food or select from the salad bar. Bottom floor is the locker rooms which also have steam room, sauna and a few pools.

So much fun and relaxing for families and all types. Good times, relaxing times every time.

I've been coming for years, and this place has really come down. I'm just going to lust them because it is that many.
•bare feet policy - no longer follow it, and ppls outside shoes are all over the place.
•multiple jets broken in the indoor and outdoor pools
• soap dispenser in the women's restroom not even attached to the wall.
• mold by outdoor pool
•missing tiles/exposed walls in the saunas
•construction on the kiddie pool makes it so unejoyable to even be outside.

I think instead of crowding the place, update the place and charge more for entry because this last experience (August 15) was awful.
