I can only hope that the employees of this company find their way to read this. YOU are the ones that make this company thrive! You are the ones putting in all the physical labor! You are the ones that should have a say in your pay, your insurance, and especially your worth!
Are you sick of being the dirt on the bottom of someone's loafers?
Thank the sweet baby Jesus there is a way for you all to have a say in your everyday work!
It is called the UNION!
That's right a UNION! FAIRNESS, EQUALITY, RIGHTS, A SAY!
You know what it takes to get a union there?
Only 30% of employees have to want it, that's it! 30%
I want to share a little information with you!

As a contractor we use spallina materials several times a week. Everyone at dispatch is easy to work with and their drivers are all excellent and hard working.

Situation:

We ordered 14 yds of concrete for a garage project several weeks ahead of time. Ended up having severe flash flooding two days prior to delivery scheduled. Called and rescheduled no problem. We were told to call a couple days ahead with a card number and to confirm date/time. Did that, the man was friendly and seemed to remember me and the project.

Day of delivery, trucks showed up early, luckily most of our help was there. In the middle emptying the second truck, they realized we were way shy of what we needed. Called to emergency order 6 more yards. Here's where it gets hairy.

The man I spoke with, who was not the original guy I'd spoken with numerous other times, was the boss. He was great about getting another truck out as soon as possible. I told him the original card # I gave him could not handle another $1000, and asked to split the payment. I said - add 600 of it to the original card I gave you, and THE REMAINING 300 whatever TO THE NEW CARD NUMBER I PROVIDED. I did not say "the remaining", I specifically said "the remaining 300" and change.

Days later, I find out nearly $3,000 was put on the second card. I called immediately, certain they made a mistake with digits. No, they didn't. They purposely put ONLY 600 on the first card (the one with 0%) and almost 3,000 on the second card that I authorized ONLY 300 something to be charged.

I spoke with the original guy (who I spoke with numerous times before). He was apologetic and understood what had happened but said he couldn't do anything about it. He offered to have his boss speak with me. This was the guy I spoke to on the day of the project and gave the specific directions to. He was NOT apologetic, said that I was not clear enough and he couldn't do anything about it because it already went through. Bull. Refund it and charge it to the correct cards the way you were told. Now we have a high interest card with 10 times the amount on it than should be.

If you go with them over Manitou (they were ever so slightly cheaper when I quoted), go over everything numerous times, get names and document everything. We have NUMEROUS other concrete projects to complete on this house, including the entire driveway and a pole barn, and the way 'the boss' handled this situation will definitely make us go elsewhere.
