Spanish Diner at Mercado Little Spain reviews
12We went there when it was still opening, so it was quite lovely and quiet. The food was fabulous. Our table of 4 ordered primarily from the "La Cocina de la Abuela" section of the menu. It was delicious.
Jay was our server. He is from Colombia, as is my family. He was warm, friendly, and excellent in every way.
Got the ramen soup (recommended dish by the restaurant) and a couple of drinks for dinner. The drinks were decent. The soup was awful; cold and gave me slight food poisoning. They also sat us next to the big garage windows when it was very cold outside, which made us very cold throughout the dinner. The prices were also very
expensive for what we got.
Great food, but did not allow accommodations for food allergies or vegetarian diets due to some food being "pre-made. " I was surprised and did not expect this from a Jose Andres restaurant.
The food is okay. The service is AWFUL.
It’s not that busy and our waitress is all over the places. She brought a wrong order, then while she pour the sangria from the pitcher she spilled the sangria on our coats. We had to call 3 people to ask for a drink because our waitress kept disappearing. Terrible experience.
The arroz ala cubana does not appear to be something worth $18. Looks more like something you can get at Costco or just cook at home for under $5.
Very bad food. Portions are so little that is hard to explain. Not worth it at all.
Soda size as for kids. Bad very bad. Not recommended
at all.
The food is good. Some dishes are excellent. The pan con tomate, the chicken stew & rice, the patatas bravas, the meat balls, etc. Very limited choices of desserts though.
The service is ok and the staff is friendly and professional but their heart is not into it. It is the impression we got while interacting with 9 different staff members. We got some great recommendations, one error in our order and a shift of water while we were dining creating a significant delay in additional orders. The staff serving the food tell us clearing that we had to ask to our waiter…. Even for more water.
The lighting at night is fairly unpleasant with the glaring large sign
The acoustic is below average and the placement of the speakers right at the level of the tables on the pillar is most challenging.
It was cold inside. The outdoor temperature was around 40. Some patrons left because it was too cold. The staff kindly turned on the heat above our table.
The bathroom are faraway from the dining room.
I've visited Hudson Yards previously but hadn't explored the restaurants until now. We opted for the Spanish diner Casa de Comida. There were two hosts – the tall, slim girl had a bit of attitude, but the one who seated us was friendly. Our server, who unfortunately I couldn't get the name of, was fantastic. He guided us through the menu, recommended popular dishes and drinks, and we thoroughly enjoyed the night with great food and drinks.
I took people there to eat and drink, our food tasted meh, it was cold and the waiter didn’t really care when she collected half eaten plates.
The only positive point was that another waiter changed a drink for us bc he felt we didn’t like it.
Servers are everywhere but you still have to flag them down to get anything. I asked one gentleman for some bravo sauce and he completely ignored me. I had to flag down another server and ask again. That’s so disrespectful. I watched him walk around my section to avoid me the rest of the time I was there.
Lovely Spanish food (we should know, it’s where we live!) and attentive service. We went in there to watch the Madrid vs Barcelona soccer game and we were very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Make sure you book a table if you’re going to watch a big match!
