Our dog is 13 years old and we have been taking him to Spencerport Country Vet since we got him. At the time, it was convenient since it was near where my dad worked. Over the past 13 years we have received good care, but it was recently when we got the best care…

Two and a half months ago, our dog was real sick. He wouldn’t eat/drink, walk, and he was vomiting. He would just sleep in his bed all day. We were terrified that it was his time to go. They got us right in for an appointment. It turned out our dog had ended up having an abscess near his shoulder.

Dr. Steve and Lindsay (technician) have taken the best care of our dog. He goes to them with no fear or hesitation. You can feel their compassion and care in what they’re doing. Not only did they make our dog feel better, but they also helped us feel better.

Anytime we didn’t know if something was healing right or had a concern, they would get right back to us or get us right in. They were very prompt and efficient. I know Cameryn has answered many calls from me and been a great help too!

I don’t normally write reviews for places, but this place, this team, this is something that deserves recognition. They brought our dog back to life and we will forever be grateful for that. There is no one else we would rather have taking care of our dog. Even if it is a drive for us now, we know he is in good hands.

Thank you Dr. Steve, Lindsay and staff for all you do. We appreciate you more than you know.

I hear they just killed another dog. They killed ours in summer of 2020 by over-dosing our puppy for a routine spay. Country Vet staff was very cold about it. We asked for a refund which they would've given us if we retracted the negative comments we made. They can keep the money so we can spread the word; DON'T GO TO THEM!

Dr Steve is excellent! All of the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Have been very happy after switching here a couple years ago.

Our Jack Russell of 14 years had seizures and was suffering. My ex husband and I both would take her for services and pay the bills. I WAS ON THE ACCOUNT. He decided she needed to be put to sleep. My three adult boys were devastated and horrified that this office chooses to NOT allow the owners in with the pet. NYS law does allow this AS does the Vet hospital across from MCC. He refused to take her there.
When I called the Country Veterinarian I was told my ex had called and told them they were not to speak to me and they could not discuss the dog with me. Another example of a Monroe County Deputy Sheriff, being a bully. I insisted I wanted the doctor to call me and never received a call back. My ex’s decision affected his relationship with his boys and this office, staff and the doctor should be ashamed of their business practices, lack of compassion and how this affected the family. That poor dog was all alone at this horrific ending. We took her there for 14 years. They should have their license revoked.

We had an appt yesterday to euthanize our 13yr old lab and they would not let all 3 of us go in to be with him when they did it. They wanted proof of vaccination and 1 of us did not have it with us but we all had masks on and were willing to fill out covid out covid questionnaire and still got denied. It was disgusting so we had to leave and took him elsewhere and will never go back

Sadly had to put my dog down suddenly. The vet showed me kindness at that sad time and accommodated me the very day I called

The way this practice handles themselves is downright disgusting. The way they respond to people is unacceptable when someone has had a bad experience and then they brush it off and make themselves out to be the victim. Actually listen to your clients and their concerns and not try to blackmail them when you know you are in the wrong! Do better.

Still can't enter with your pets, not sure why - doctors offices and the like are accepting you to waiting area, and I'm fully vaccinated. They canceled one appt, rescheduled the next one. Service not too good, waiting with dogs in car unbearable.

I love Spencerport Country Vet. Dr. Dena is wonderful. My dog had major surgery for a Mass removal n she did a wonderful job with the surgery. Unfortunately the mass came back showing Sunshine has stage 3 Mammary cancer. Dr. Dena was was very compassionate n caring when letting us know. Dr. Steve is also very compassionate n caring. I would highly recommend Spencerport Country Vet to anyone look for a Vet. The office staff is also very helping and caring.

Your vets negligence to run ANY tests on a dog caused him extended agony. You didn't offer or reccomend running tests.why? Did you assume the financial stability of the owners and think they couldn't afford it? Did you assume because he was an older dog it wasn't worth it? After a visit to the emergency vet it was found he had cancer causing kidney failure, enlarged liver, and that it was spreading to his lungs. How do you see all these symptoms and think "must be kennel cough", give a vaccine, and say if it persists to come back in a couple months. Absolutely disgusting, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. How dare you call yourselves caring. Do better.

The staff is completely inconsiderate of customers worries, and get hostile when they attempt to get a resolution to their issue.
