SpringHill Suites by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square South reviews
20 We randomly booked the hotel via booking and were instantly suppressed about the absolutely friendly staff!
They help you with everything and seem to love their jobs. Special shoutout go Jeffrey and his patients with helping us with our booking.
Next time New York will be definitely here! <3
I made a reservation because the location was great.but the heater made a lot of noise so I don't think so.
Fortunately, it wasn't too cold, so I left it on and went out, but when I went to sleep, I turned it off and went to sleep. I guess there's no answer if it's cold.haha. ;
And don't get a room with a terrace. It's seriously noisier, the floor height is low, and it's either a laundry room or a cleaning room next to it, and it makes a lot of noise during the day hahaha.
Highly recommended hotel for location and good rooms, breakfast somewhat limited in variety but very good buffet style
The location is excellent with nice, polite and responsive staff. The room layout was good but the decor felt a little tired and the ambiance a little noisy. There are not enough lifts so there was always a wait.
Unfortunately, the main issue was the breakfast buffet which always felt chaotic due to the high number of people and the lack of space to sit down. Added to that, the paper plates and plastic cutlery made the whole breakfast experience feel cheap.
We stayed at this hotel for 7 days on our trip to New York and had a great time.
The hotel is very nice, with a beautiful hall where every evening an aperitif is organized for guests and during the weekend there are also live music opportunities. In the hall it is also possible to consume food brought from outside or ordered at home. In the morning a rich buffet breakfast is served.
The rooms are of the right size with en-suite bathroom, daily cleaning and change of towels. If we can suggest a small improvement it is to offer guests more space for clothes or provide the room with hangers for coats.
The location is great; you can walk to all the attractions of Midtown Manhattan and Times Square area
We stayed for 2 nights during the week for an event at MSG. For the most part this stay really exceeded my expectations. The room was nice and clean. It had kind of a weird smell when we first got in, but it dissipated after a few minutes of running the AC. It was more like a stale bleach smell from clean linens, than any kind of mildew or something like that. The room was decent sized, it had a microwave and mini fridge, a small safe for valuables, you can sign into your Netflix on the TV. The layout was a little awkward with the bed placed directly in front of the bathroom; so if you are not already intimately aware of your partner's bathroom habits you will be. The staff was friendly, responsive, helpful. The location is fantastic, walking distance to many popular destinations. The breakfast buffet did get a bit busy at times, but staff were constantly replacing empty dishes, so you didn't have to wait for something. This is a big money saver in the city obviously and we were pleased to go both mornings we were there. They also mentioned a free happy hour of wine and beer, which we did not partake in, but that would also be a big money saver if you do. We will definitely stay here again.
I enjoyed this hotel. It's close to the Javits center.an easy walk. The room was nice and clean. It was small.very much a New York size room. I'd stay here again.
Absolute recommendation for a New York trip!
Positive:
- Location is very central (near Time Square & Penn Station)
- Rooms very clean and large
- Staff very helpful and friendly
- Hotel very new and clean
Negative:
- Disposable cutlery (some still plastic cutlery)
- Selection at the breakfast buffet could be a little larger
Conclusion, I would definitely choose this hotel for another vacation in New York! Price-performance is top. Hope to see you soon.:)
It's a good hotel generally.the location is good although not too central. Unfortunately in the area there are some places where people use drugs in the evening.the rooms are clean on average but very small.the bed has short sheets and the headboard was fixed with duck tape.breakfast, although plentiful, is often eaten standing up because there are few seats.a very positive thing is that you can have dinner and lunch in the hotel lobby by bringing food from outside.big negative point: the elevators are a nightmare!
We stayed in this hotel for a week. Friendly staff. Small but clean rooms, they clean every day. In the rooms there are hairdryer, iron, fridge, kettle and microwave.
The breakfast was good but, unfortunately, the same things every day and not a lot of choice.
Excellent location, just a few minutes from the subway.
I recommend the corner shop Essen for lunch
Very good value for money for this hotel.
Already the location: on the 36th between 8th and 9th avenues, very close to MSG, easy to get around Manhattan.
The ACE lines are two minutes away, the 7 in particular to go to Queens in 10 minutes (good opportunity to hang out at Hudson Yards). The E allows you to go to JFK, which is also convenient.
Then on to the hotel itself: first advantages are the breakfast included. Quite a few things to eat, nothing famous or exceptional but very practical. Then a happy hour between 5 and 6 p.m. Each day where you are served beer or wine for free.
The staff is smiling, friendly, caring and helpful, it was very pleasant.
Our room was on the 2nd floor (3rd floor), so no clear view. There was a lack of light, the windows not being very large. The room is small, normal for NYC, two suitcases encroach on the passage around the bed). Beyond that, clean, functional room, rather comfortable mattress and bed. Everything you ask for in a room. But a loud ventilation noise came from time to time, a little randomly (not that of the VMC in the bathroom). Not that disturbing but it is noticeable. The street has the advantage of being relatively quiet, avoiding additional nuisance at night.
Finally, this hotel, unlike many others in NYC, does not apply a Resort Fee. This is a plus on the price of the trip which should not be neglected at all.
For a 4-star hotel, no.on the first evening we found some chocolates next to the bed on the floor which obviously weren't ours. The rooms are a bit small, you can barely move through them and there isn't even space for suitcases, but at least it's quiet. The breakfast is very monotonous and doesn't offer much and extremely crowded, you have to look for a seat for a long time. For the price paid I expected better service. Usually in 4 star hotels umbrellas are loaned out for free in case of rain, in the hotel we were told that if we wanted we could buy one. The location is very convenient, 10 minutes from Times Square and very close to the subway.
I know this was only the rare occurrence but it happened to me.
Got a room on floor three and the roof in the bathroom is ripping, leaking, and eventually fallen. Was given another room to stay next door but the air conditioner was extremely loud and the bathroom seemed not cleaned (dirty towels etc.) So we slept in my original room and the maintenance crew broke in at 3am. I guess for fixing the roof. But I was given two key cards and never asked to move out of the room.
So the overall experience was bad.
Very good treatment from the reception employees. They store suitcases both at check-in and check-out. Friendly and willing to collaborate with everything you need.
The hotel is decent, not amazing but it’s ok. It’s in a good location but feels a bit like a glorified hostel with individual rooms. The breakfast? Avoid. Ohhh please avoid. It’s a free for all buffet with paper cups, plates and plastic cutlery. You have to find a seat anywhere you can, sometimes opting for the seats by the lofts, lobby or even your room. The food is gross. Our carpet in the room smelt like dirty feet and there was hair everywhere. I wouldn’t pick this hotel again.
Decent hotel experience, seemed lower quality than most Marriott hotels. Clean, comfortable roogreat breakfast. This hotel is extremely busy most hours of the day, with around 20-30 people standing or sitting around the lobby no matter what time of day. Elevators always packed and slow. We called to change rooms upon arrival, the curtains did not cover the window fully, and there was also a person laying in front of our room. The front desk did nothing to help, and did not care to make our stay better after that situation. They did not care to even hear the entire conversation, we were cut off and told no changes are available.
They offer a shuttle service to the airport, but it was $95. I was told a different rate by another staff member 10 minutes before and I was told it didn’t matter.
We stayed one night here. The room was really tiny and the bathroom was probably the best feature. But there was hardly a place to stand in the room or do jumping jacks. Of course we didn't really need to do jumping jacks but I like to do morning stretches and more space is needed for that. The lobby was okay and the older building that is the facade makes the building seem a little bit more unique. Even though the interiors are all pretty generic. The hallways were a bit worn out, but the room was well maintained. The breakfast was rather big and especially crowded at around 10: 00, which they admittedly know is the peak. So you may want to start out earlier if you are not into crowds. The breakfast quality was basic, bagels, eggs from a mix, oatmeal etc.but it is something to get you going. At least they had healthy options. There wasn't much to say about staff at breakfast cuz there was no interaction with them, but the front desk and bell hop staff were really friendly and nice. The neighborhood has some plusses and minuses. It's really close to everything, but because it's part of an area where there are many hotels, you feel a part of the mass tourism crowd rather than feeling like a part of the city.
The hotel receptionist asked for a $100 deposit. We paid by card, they assured us that this is a normal procedure and after the stay the money will be returned within 2-4 weeks. 4 months have passed. We did not get the money back. So disappointing, don't recommend.
A Disappointing Experience with SpringHill Suites by Marriott on 36th Street.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at SpringHill Suites by Marriott, and my overall impression is far from satisfactory. The main source of my dissatisfaction stems from the hotel's handling of my deposit and their lack of assistance in resolving the issue.
Upon check-in, I was required to provide a deposit, which is a common practice in the hospitality industry. However, what followed was a frustrating ordeal that left a bitter taste in my mouth. The hotel not only failed to refund my deposit promptly but also displayed a lack of transparency and commitment to resolving the matter.
Despite several attempts to communicate with the hotel staff, I encountered unhelpful and indifferent responses. The customer service was, at best, subpar, and the staff seemed disinterested in addressing my concerns. Emails and phone calls were met with delays and vague assurances that my issue would be resolved "soon. "
It's disheartening to experience such a lack of professionalism and accountability, especially when it comes to financial matters. The hotel's failure to refund my deposit in a timely manner has not only inconvenienced me but also raised concerns about their business practices.
In addition to the deposit issue, the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. The room was not as clean as one would expect, and amenities were outdated. It's evident that the management is more focused on securing funds rather than ensuring a positive and comfortable stay for their guests.
I would strongly advise potential guests to reconsider staying at SpringHill Suites by Marriott on 36th Street, unless improvements are made in their customer service and financial handling processes. There are numerous other options available that prioritize customer satisfaction and adhere to basic standards of transparency and fairness.
The room is small but we got a good price for it. And the service is amazing.the employees are very nice and Derrick is an awesome guy and very helpful and polite.
