My father, who is an exemplary Catholic, is dying. Do you think there is a Catholic priest available to administer Last Rites? No. Not one Catholic priest in the Saratoga area is available to administer Last Rites. Sure it's Thanksgiving, but people don't get to choose when to die. Becoming a priest, however, is a choice. The privilege to administer the Sacraments ought to be obligatory, even on a holiday. So much for being a good Catholic.
